A new project and an announcement

First of all, the landscape I've been working on still isn't ready to be shown so instead I thought I'd show you the beginnings of a new project....

It's a terrible photo I know...but....this pile of 'stuff' consists of two well-loved onesies belonging to our two littlest grandsons and there's two different pieces of Minky fur behind.  Two teddy bears have been requested so Grandma can't possibly say no!  I'm going to try to just use the onesies for the body of the bears and then create the head and 'hands' from the Minky.  Fingers crossed it works!

And....I wanted to let you know that I might be MIA for a couple of weeks or so and my blogging presence both here and visiting with you all will probably be sparse.  I will be having cataract surgery on both eyes and don't know what to expect as far as the healing process is concerned.  Bottom line is that I'm very much looking forward to being able to see!!  Please play nicely amongst yourselves and I'll be back as soon as I can.

Today's quote..."This woman has fought a thousand battles, and is still standing; has cried a thousand tears, and is still smiling; has been broken, betrayed, abandoned, rejected, but she still walks proud, laughs loud, lives without fear, loves without doubt.  This woman is beautiful.  This woman is humble.  This woman is you"

  1. First, good luck with your surgeries and happy healing. I would love to send you a card to cheer you up as you recover. I love these links today. The Woolboons are so cute and those miniature crocheted flowers and bouquets are wonders in themselves. Looks like that upcoming project will be fun.

    1. Thank you for your good wishes Lorraine. I'm not worried about it - just anxious to get my sight back! There was a day when I would have tried making those miniature flowers but 'Arthur' would have a serious discussion over that so I guess I'll just have to admire them from afar.

  3. Good luck with your surgery! My Mom is the only person that I know who had any problems with her surgery but that was all because she has a allergy to steroids and we didn't really make the connection to the steroid drops. We figured that out before the second one and it was a breeze. Her vision was so much better after the surgery. I've never heard of anyone else having issues with it. I know you'll sail through.

    1. Good to know about the possibility for an allergy to the drops. Hopefully it won't be an issue but good to be aware anyway. Glad your Mom is doing okay now!

  4. First and most important...Prayers and Healing Energy for your eye surgeries. I know how long you have waited to have clear vision once again. Please take proper time to recuperate dear. Your Onesie Bears sound very cute and will make wonderful Heirlooms. So many talented artists on your links and I am smitten by the Woolboons. Lovely quote today. March is here and Spring is near.

  5. Best of luck to you, dear one, in your cataract surgery. The one I had (about 15 years ago) was easy Peary and I could see better almost immediately. Recovery was a piece of cake (a couple days), but I was much younger then!! You’ll be thrilled when it’s all the ver and you can really SEE again!

    1. Oh yes, the prospect of not having to peer through a fog is a wonderful thing! My underlying prescription won't change (at least not much) but at least the cataracts themselves will be gone. Hooray for modern surgery!

Maybe time to use voice command. It freaks me out, but I know some folks like to use it.

    1. Thank you Karen - glad your DH had a good result and I'm hoping for the same, even though my underlying presciption won't change (at least not overly much). I'm just happy to get rid of the fog!

  16. Best of luck with your cataract surgery, MaryAnne. I hope it goes smoothly and your recovery is quick. I was scheduled to have the same surgery last year, but the appointments were rescheduled because of the pandemic. Then delayed again. By the time the third "try" rolled around I had lost some confidence in the doctor's practice and decided to get a second opinion. And that's where I'm at right now because...the pandemic. I look forward to hearing about your experience soon.
