It seems I've gotten myself into a bit of chaos in my sewing studio. In one corner we have this....
and in another corner there's this...
and then there's this....
and then there's this.....
But in the kitchen, Resident Chef is calmly creating good edibles with these...
Puff balls and swiss chard,
gifts from good friends!
And, instead of a quote today....
Just Loving those bobbin rolls--I made some similar ones from scrapbooking paper for my junk journals when I was into scrapbooking. I especially like the little button flowers on them...like a crazy quilt roll aren't they?
ReplyDeletethanks for finding these treasures--they are going on my list (like i need anything else right?),
Hugs with a big smile Julierose
I like the bobbin roll idea too - and am now kicking myself that I gave away a wooden bobbin several years ago.
DeleteLOL! The cartoon makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteYour sewing room looks organized to me.
Wow - there's not a single thing organized about my sewing space right now! I need to finish up a project (or 3) so I have room to walk!
DeleteNever had puffballs. I've seen them growing but I always though you couldn't eat them.
ReplyDeleteLove the bobbin rolls...beautiful.
Puffballs, if they're the real ones, are delicious! Kids love to kick them and watch them explode which makes us so annoyed because if they're left alone they will multiply and make such good eating.
DeleteI'd say creativeness! You have your work cut out having so much fabric. Seems there's a tasty meal coming up too. Love the dogs revenge.
ReplyDeleteA lot of the fabric you see in these pictures has been moved along. Some is going to a friend who is heavily into making masks and some is heading for the thrift store to bless someone else. The rest I'm keeping and have actually already cut into a piece.
DeleteLove the dogs :)
ReplyDeleteThose dogs made me smile!
DeleteYour photos show a busy and productive creative space. I just had an organizing (sort of) of my space to be ready for my next project. I’ve never had Puff Balls.
ReplyDeleteNot very productive the last few days I'm afraid. My creativity seems to be on a bit of a hiatus at the moment - quite possibly because it's hard to work with all the mess!
DeleteLove seeing what you call chaos in your sewing studio. It looks like mine sometimes gets, only substitute yarn in for the fabric. While my room looks better than it did a week ago, it still needs a going over to whip some stray stuff into order (or out the door). I LOVE the quilts of Kay Haerland. Remarkable stuff!
ReplyDeleteOh, I only showed you the best parts - it's far worse behind the scenes! Or it was. I spent some time sorting through all the donated fabrics this afternoon and some is heading out of here and the rest has been put away. Still a mess but at least one corner looks a little better.
DeleteOh, I think a sewing studio is not a sewing studio unless it is in chaos.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim - I know you're trying to make me feel better!
DeleteHee, hee! Looks like you have been having fun!! Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThe pile in the last picture was 'donations' of fabrics that appeared in hopes that I could use it. There was very little I really wanted to keep but I'm passing the rest along. So now what was once one pile has morphed into several - all heading in different directions. It's taking over I tell you!
DeleteI vote for "chaos of creativity"......everytime I start a project I feel like I can't start unless I clean up my studio but in less than 20 minutes after starting the project, the room looks as bad, if not worse than before! It just happens....lol...thanks for the links
ReplyDeleteI try to clean up between projects too and make the resolve that THIS time I won't let myself get into such a mess. Funny thing how that doesn't work!
DeleteHi Maryanne lol you sound just like me I have a bit here and a bit there lol but that means we have been productive ,lol, well that's what I keep telling myself ,stay safe and take care my friend xx
ReplyDeleteOnce the mess gets too deep and I start not being able to find things then I know it's time for a shovel out. One corner looks a whole lot better but the couch and the cutting table, well, that's another matter!
DeletePuffballs? Are they mushrooms?
ReplyDeleteYes, they are. And very tasty ones too!
