A teeny bit of progress

Over the weekend I got a little more done at the latest landscape.  Flirting with the time period in creating these that I feel the only thing I should do is chuck it because it looks butt ugly.  So far I've managed to work through that period in a landscape creation and it's been okay but I do second guess myself a lot.

Your quote for today..."How cool is it that the same God who created mountains and oceans and galaxies looked at you and thought the world needed one of you too?"

  1. Nice, Thank you
I like the blocking rig. I think I can make a comfortable knitting spool using that material.

    1. Yes, I thought that blocking idea would be useful for many different shapes and forms, depending on how you put it together.

  4. Second comment, different subject: yes, that whywasiborn passage in every art project, as you come to grips with what's happening that's different from your original concept. And yes to persisting anyway! This one is going to be great.

  5. I think we all go through those times when we look at our pieces and say that...I know I do...
then when they're done, we are happy we kept on going....;))) hugs, Julierose

  6. Keep on keeping on with your lovely landscape, Mary Anne. It is going to be amazing at the end. Your landscapes always are, you know. Loving the details on the church. Loving those crochet hexies. Wouldn't they look lovely in a blanket??

    1. Hmmmm - amazing at the end? One of these days it's gonna happen that there's a complete and total dud. I'm not that naive that I don't think I'm bound for a failure sooner or later!

And projects always have slow difficult areas. You know your stuff, you've been through this before, you'll get it done.

  12. Was so sure I had left a comment here, but I think I was having posting from my phone (when our internet was out). I'm impressed with what you call butt ugly, Mary Anne. I know, in spite of your doubts, you're going to keep working your magic and I will once again be blown away by your talent.

    1. I guess butt ugly is in the eye of the beholder? It's gone beyond that stage now and I'm happier with it (sort of).
