A bunch of nothing (or maybe something?)

A short discourse..
on the virus concerns...
this blog is, and will remain (hopefully)
a place to come where it won't be discussed.
It's there....
we're concerned...
life goes on.
Wash your hands.
'Nuff said.

Updated to add this....we all need to maintain our sense of humour these days and when I came across this I laughed out loud and thought you might find it amusing as well...

Unfortunately I can't give credit to the artist - if anyone knows,
please leave a comment

- Resident Chef has been working on jigsaw puzzles lately and I came across THESE ideas for using pieces of puzzles that might be short a piece or two.

  2. Yes, there's still a lot of things to do and think about aside from our situation.

Jigsaws, art, reading, sewing, walking, keeping in touch. This might be the best time in history to be physically isolated and socially active.

  3. I tried to enter a comment and it went away! Just saying yes, there's plenty to think about and enjoy.

In fact there's never been a better time to be socially connected while physically separated.

  4. Comments not working too well today. Third try, to say this is a great time in history to ne physically apart while socially connected. early adopters of bligs have known this for a long time.

    1. Got all the comments Liz - don't know what's happening on the internet today, but suspect it might be because everyone is home and using it. Who knows!

  5. The cartoon is priceless. Gave me a chuckle! Stay safe. We are staying home as we are in the high risk category.

    1. Staying home here as well - at least as much as humanly possible. Have to do a drug store stop later in the week to pick up prescriptions but other than that we're staying in. Glad you enjoyed the cartoon - it was just too good not to share!

  6. Congratulations to the Resident Chef for finishing the puzzle. I really liked the ideas for using redundant puzzle pieces! Hope you are keeping safe and well..... this is exactly when it pays to have an 'indoors' hobby like sewing.... never can have too much time on your hands!! Christine xx

    1. Resident Chef has another puzzle to work on and I can happily spend quite a few hours putzing in my sewing room so we're good.

  7. I'm looking at blogging as sort of a way to journal going through this experience. Not that anyone's likely to find it in the mass of 1000's of old blogs a hundred years from now, but it still seems the thing to do. That said, I totally respect keeping yours virus-talk-free. Hope commenting on it here doesn't mess up your plan.

Thanks for the idea! I think I may find a place to put a puzzle up. I keep thinking DH needs a hobby - so I can go about mine without him asking me repeatedly, "Why are you so quiet?" Would it be too obvious if I set it up in his new "study"?

    1. No - go ahead and comment Becki! I'm just not planning on talking about it on my blog overly much because I'm trying to stay upbeat. Bloggers are choosing which way they prefer to go and I think that's good. Readers can then choose what to read that is best for them. Just my thoughts!
As for puzzles and DH's - go for it! Mine bitches and complains about how hard they are and sets it aside, but I notice that an hour or so he's picked it up again. That and listening to old country music (gah) keeps him entertained.

    2. You make a very good point. I'm definitely trying to be upbeat in this, but I find I do best if I have information that makes sense (as opposed to hyperbole and dismissal). In truth I probably won't comment much either, but if these blogs survive for a hundred years, won't they be an interesting study about how different people handled this? That's my missed degree in anthropology talking...

    3. Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to read what bloggers would have said during the Spanish Influenza period..or the time of cholera. We will get through this, but those of us that suffer from depression and anxiety issues have to guard against subjecting ourselves to too much doom and gloom and really need to search out at least some good news to balance ourselves.

  8. Oh my goodness! The link the puzzle pieces ideas range from adorable to amazing! I did NOT need another reason to collect something, Mary Anne. But I may just have to be on the lookout for colorful puzzles so I can make something abstract. I think that fasincated me most.

  10. I pulled out some puzzles today to start working on. I definitely have enough housework and craft projects to keep me busy but a good puzzle can be a very good distraction. Stay healthy!

    1. Puzzles are a good distraction, for sure. I try not to get sucked into 'helping' with the one Resident Chef has on the go. Trying to leave it for him so he has something else to think about....I have my stitching!

  11. Do you know I simply cannot do jigsaw puzzles. They take me forever; something to do with my very strange and muddly brain.

    1. Right now, at least while we're being told to stay at home, having something that takes forever to do is a good thing for Resident Chef. I can happily spend hours in my sewing room but it's harder for him. Hmmm...perhaps I should teach him to sew???....or knit?
