Finally!

Yes, finally!   I started working on a new fabric landscape and I'm happy to get back to it.  I guess I have to call it a landscape now rather than a barn!

It's at the stage now where I debate chucking it all and starting over, however I know I go through this every time so I will work through it.  That's not to say that it will end up escaping the trash bin eventually anyway, but at least I have the patience to wait and see!

It's been really cold here the past few days (but happily we seem to have missed the big dumping of snow that many people got).  Right now it's -24C here and it was colder than that over the weekend, particularly if you factor in the wind chill.  So the quote for today is this..."I think it's time for Old Man Winter to get Mother Nature drunk, and have a little fun making Spring"

  1. I say move with your project and let serendipity take over. Looks like the house I grew up in. The glass wall hanging is beautiful. I imagine very heavy. Had to share with my FB friends.

    1. I aim to please, so it's good that it's a happy day. Me - not so happy with that car, so it's been replaced with a different model. Sort of.

    1. Inside is where I've stayed! I have no desire to freeze my nose hairs....or any other part of my anatomy.

    1. My sentiments exactly Vicki - oddly my entire day disappeared in an instant. Funny how that happens when I'm working on something I enjoy!

  7. Your approach to your quilts is amazing and you always doubt your beginnings yet they always end up being extraordinary! This one looks interesting with a car. Windy is an understatement here today and yesterday driving home through the desert! Cold here but not like the North or East coast. Stay bundled and warm. Fun quote! Come on Spring!!

    1. Curious to know - when it's really windy where you are do you get dust storms? My sense of geography is sadly lacking! And yes, I do doubt my beginnings but after I took off the car I'm happier now. It's been replaced, not to worry!

    2. No dear we are very fortunate here in Southern Utah. We do not get dust storms like the Phoenix Arizona area. No Snow either...makes me so very happy!

  11. A great start Mary Anne, even if you are changing the car. I look forward to seeing what you make of it.
I like the tea bag pouch and I’m fighting the impulse to make one!
Gosh -24C! We worry when it’s -3°C here!
    Do keep warm my dear.

    1. I've made tea bag pouches before and they are handy if you like to carry your own teabag. My mother in law would have LOVED one because she always complained bitterly that the tea in restaurants was never strong enough to suit her and she often carried a tea bag in her pocket. Warmer here today - and snowing.

  13. Your new piece has piqued my interest. I so enjoy watching the progress. Funny, that link for the glass window is something my daughter just pinned on her Pinterest page. I was admiring it, but like you, doubt I would ever do it.

    1. Glad you're interested Lorraine - maybe my blog isn't as boring as I thought! And yes - that glass window is really intriguing but not something I will would ever do now. Might have, back when we had a garden.

  14. your landscapes really are something else...I can't imagine how complicated the process must be. I have seen progress in later posts on here today and all I can say is wow.

    1. Complicated? I don't think so - provided you take it one step at a time (and be prepared to do a lot of reverse stitching!).
