Christmas is a'comin'......

I know, those weren't words you were wanting to hear, but unfortunately it's on the way and there's not a whole lot we can do about it.  So....Mrs. Santa's workshop has just finished creating two of these....
  But....what are they you say?

Do you give up?  Well, they're mug carriers!  When we go to our quilt guild meetings we have to take along our own mug for our coffee or tea, so I thought having a carrier would help protect them, AND look rather cute too.  One is for me (the one on the right) and the other is a gift for my friend who just joined the guild.  Pattern was taken from HERE   with a few modifications of my own.  I felt that the bag wasn't quite deep  (tall?) enough to properly enclose my mug so I added 2" to the pattern and instead of the fabric loop that goes over the button I chose to use a 4" piece of elastic.  I also modified the amount of elastic suggested for the sides and instead of using 4" for each side I used 3"...makes it a little more secure I felt.

Anonymous, again...."The older you get, the more you realize you have no desire for drama, conflict and any kind of intensity.  You just want a cozy home, a nice book and a person who knows how you drink your coffee"

  3. Of course you have your own beautiful carry bag to carry your very own mug!! Both are lovely. I wonder what Mrs Santa's workshop will fashion next?? BTW.....I really don't want to hear the Christmas word.

  5. Yikes! Christmas! Love your little bag. I don't carry mugs anywhere, but I could think of a lot of other things it could carry. The scrap idea is great. I've used that technique for beginning learners to make a bracelet because it's a great way for learners to understand how the foot pedal of the machine relates to it's speed. I like this idea to create items for fabric cards?

  6. The mug bags are cute ones for sure. Lucky friend to receive one. There is no tea time at the Mahone Bay Quilt Guild. Thanks for the links.

  7. What a sweet and thoughful and practical gift. Your mugs will be quite cozy and safe. This quote fits me perfectly...except I never acquired the taste for coffee. Tea or water or soda (very bad for me I know!). November is running away from me...just lie all the other months this year. :o).

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
