As promised

This morning we woke up to the realization that summer is over.  It was definitely a 'brrrrr' morning.  I'm in mourning for summer.

However, in the spirit of the season (at least in this hemisphere) here's a photo of some more progress on my fall pillow cover...

I have added another vine (to the right of the wheat) - just a simple line of whipped backstitch, with bullion & lazy daisy leaves and bead flowers.  There's a new cross-stitched maple leaf, a new seam treatment and some silk ribbon bulrushes.

And, to continue with the journal series (which, btw, is a re-show of something I created a number of years ago, so isn't new)....

And, I find myself in possession of a second copy of a book I already have,

"The Art of Silk Ribbon Embroidery"
by Judith Baker Montano,
c. 1993

Today your quote is from William Penn... "I expect to pass through life but once.  If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow human being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again"    I think, perhaps, we should all make this our personal mantra, especially in light of the horrible loss of life once again in the US.  God bless those who lost their lives and those who are now grieving.

  9. Don't add me to the give a way...I have decided I don't enjoy ribbon embroidery.
But I couldn't go away without leaving a comment on your beautiful work. It is so colorful it brought a smile on an early morning.
