A commission? Or Startitis??

Several months ago I was given a special women's hankie and asked if I could make something with it.  After some discussion we decided that a photo album cover would be useful and show off the hankie well.  I am finally (!!) getting around to getting the project underway and here is the progress so far (you can see part of the hankie to the left of the embroidery)....

'Photos' embroidered using waste canvas

And yes, I know that I have two Quilt-zzzzz on the go; plus my crazy quilting class (with Kathy Shaw) work; plus my Oriental-themed hussif...so what am I doing starting yet ANOTHER project??  Startitis indeed!

Today I have a quote from Horace.... "He who has begun has half done.  Dare to be wise; begin!"

  1. Love this project for your photo cover... it is really pretty. You just have to start a project when you are inspired to do so... they all get finished in the end!! Have a lovely weekend! :) x

  2. You can't work constantly on Quilt-zzzzzz or you will fall into a coma.

  9. Hi Sweetie! I don't take many special orders anymore. Partly because my stitching time isn't what it used to be, and partly because I find I create much better if I do what I'M in the mood to do...not something I have to do. :) Your hankie/photo album cover is looking gorgeous. If there was anyone she could trust to do something extra, extra special with that delicate hankie, it's you!...Your grandson is so adorable by the way! :) xo

  10. I like to have small projects to work on when it's not possible to spend time using the sewing machine on bigger items. I have quite a few things on the go at the moment: embroidery, knitting, lace, tapestry and I'd almost forgotten I was going to start tatting too! Most things get finished eventually!
