Well, those of you who have been holding your breath waiting for the reveal of the landscape will just have to wait a teeny bit longer. There has been much avail made of the stitch ripper and much 'discussion' with the sewing machine regarding my insistence that I truly DO want to use invisible thread. At the moment it remains to be seen just which one of us is more stubborn than the other.
So....instead of THAT finish, how about another one? A wee baby sweater using leftover yarn and gifted buttons.
and a close up of the buttons...

Ooh, those buttons!! Lovely little cardi.
ReplyDeleteYes, they ARE cute buttons aren't they!
DeleteWhat a sweet little sweater..... and those buttoms are perfect there! I've seen postings on FB about finding a quilted heart. I will have to delve into that a little more after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThose buttons were simply too sweet not to use on something for the baby. I might try making some hearts after Christmas - sounds like a fun project.
DeleteThe 50 link...there are so many stunning crochet projects there!
ReplyDeleteHappy Threading!
I enjoyed seeing the crochet projects too although some of them were a bit odd.
DeleteHi Mary Anne,
ReplyDeleteI love the hearts idea. Last year, when so many folk were in hospital with Covid, we made pairs of little hearts (I used felt and in bright colours) and they were given to the local hospital where one of the pair was given to the sick person and the other was given to a member of their family, to know that they are loved.
Love the little cardigan - and the buttons! Hope you have a lovely Christmas - stay safe and stay well.

What a wonderful thing you did to make the pairs of hearts. I'm sure it was very welcome.
DeleteHappy Christmas wishes to you as well!
Such a cutie sweater and LOVE the buttons.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy - they were a gift and the yarn itself was left over from another project so a win/win all around.
DeleteAn absolutely adorable wee sweater!! Nice work--and the cutest buttons...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThe kids aren't fans of the traditional colours for babies so I think they'll like this - and the buttons are just plain fun.
DeleteCute sweater and those buttons are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I think they were made for each other!
DeleteThe little sweater is adorable and what fun the buttons are! Good luck with the invisible thread!
ReplyDeleteInvisible thread is a brute no matter what but for some reason it was giving me extra trouble this time. The buttons made up for the thread angst for sure.
DeleteWell, I guess if we have to wait to see the finished landscape quilt, a sweet little cheerful red sweater with frog prince buttons is a good substitute. It's cute as can be, Mary Anne. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Becki - I had to do something to use those fun buttons and a red sweater just seemed to fit, at least within the confines of my stash anyway.
DeleteBeautiful finish and very cute buttons. Hugs Christine xx
ReplyDeleteI've done that sweater pattern before and it's one of my favourites. Suits my knitting capabilities anyway. The buttons were just a fun add-on.
DeleteWonderful cardigan, with so cute buttons. It will be loved. I like all your links, especially the crochet gecko and Random Acts ideas. Not too long now until Santa arrives.
ReplyDeleteI actually wouldn't mind that sweater in a size to fit ME!
DeleteOh, the sweater is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'd love a red sweater just like this for myself (altho, maybe I'd pass on the Frog prince buttons!)
