Sometimes....and a teaser

Sometimes, when you're perusing the aisles in the thrift store, you stumble across something that leaps into your hands begging you to take it home.  I am living proof that it happens!  I have no need of this....never thought I wanted one....really have no reason to spend $8.99 on it....BUT.....he came home with me and now resides keeping watch over my plants.  Who knows, he might be a good luck charm and make my plants do wonderous things.

and, no, I do NOT want to start collecting pigs!!

I say that because at one point I bought myself a couple of little handmade teddy bears that I fell in love with.  My friends and family saw them (because of course I showed them off) and decided that I had become a 'collector' and inundated me with bears on every single gifting occasion they could think of.  I only wanted my two little ones but somehow I managed to accumulate dozens of them.  Good thing we moved to the apartment giving me a good excuse to get rid of them all.

Over the weekend I got to the point of being able to lay out the fusion quilt blocks to see if I have enough for the three projects I want to do and I'm happy to say that I do - just.  This picture shows the layout of the larger project which will end up on the back of our couch ready to be pressed into service if we're chilly.

The bottom three rows have been put together.  Overall, in the photo, it looks huge but it's a trick of the photography.  It's really not as long as it appears.  I'll try to remember to give you overall dimensions once I've put it together and added the border.

- Have a look through the galleries of THIS amazing artist!  I can't imagine working with the raw materials she uses.

- I know THIS is supposedly for the kids, but I think adults would love it too.

- I wonder if THIS could be made from a blanket?

- I've often thought of doing THIS but have yet to attempt it.

Today's quote...."To be kind is more important than to be right.  Many times what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but  a special heart that listens"

    1. It's fun to see it starting to come together so it's not hard to put together 'just one more row'.

  2. Several really good links here! I've done freeform crochet and it's really fun. I think you'd like it. A segment would work great in your landscapes. How did the trunk show go?

    1. Freeform crochet does look like fun and it's on my to-do someday list for sure.
Trunk show went well I think although some of the ladies expected that, when they heard the topic was 'fabric landscapes', I would be speaking about putting the garden to bed for the winter. We had a giggle about that!

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
