I made these extra pieces to go along with the tote bag I showed you last time. I really wanted to use up as much of the tartan as I could, so these were the result (a small zippered pouch; a mid-sized pouch; and a tissue cover)....
I'm afraid I fell down on the job and don't have a single link for you this time. I know, what's this world coming to! So, enjoy your holiday and I'll try to have some for you on Friday.
Today's quote is from Bertrolt Brecht..."Those who know the truth are fools, but those who know the truth and call it a lie are criminals"
Really cute accessories you've made!!:))) You are so clever at making those--I am not really good at zippers or makings of that
ReplyDeletekind !!
Stay cool--still really steamy here today--hoping for a cool Canadian cold front to sweep in tomorrow with thunder storm rains...
hugs, Julierose
Zippers aren't my favourite things but I manage (as long as nobody looks too close!).
DeleteDon't know where the Canadian cold front is coming from because it's certainly not here. We need rain really badly.
We're looking forward eagerly to the end of the heat dome.
ReplyDeleteYou're very clever with small accessories, really well done.
I think most of us are looking forward to a break in the heat. I keep reminding myself of how much I hate winter and I refuse to complain. Although...some rain would surely be welcome.
Deletei am NOT showing this post to Melissa - we have yardage of that highland cow fabric and she would start whining about NEEDING a tote bag and a project bag and a fill-in-the-blank ... and then i would say that she knows how to sew and she would say that she has a birthday coming up in December and i would answer with...
ReplyDeleteha ha - I'm SUCH an enabler!!! Sorry (not sorry).
DeleteThese are absolutely delightful! I love the cows and plaid pattern!
ReplyDeleteMy friend is of Scottish descent and the plaid is actually her family tartan. She has fallen in like with those highland cows so I thought it was a perfect 'marriage'.
DeleteLovely little purses.
ReplyDeleteThank you - they were fun to make.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: These add-ons are perfect. I love to have extra things to contain my stuff in my bag. Another pertinent quote!
ReplyDeleteContaining stuff - that sounds spot on!
DeleteLovely way to use up the fabric making those add-ons.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The tartan was quite expensive so I didn't want to waste any of it.
DeleteThe tartan looks great with the print you have there. I have the idea I want to try to make some zippered bags, but I keep thinking it looks hard. I just need to find a tutorial that takes me step by step through the process.
ReplyDeleteThey're not hard to make but I would suggest that if your machine has a zipper foot it makes it easier. And...a tip...remember to keep the zipper open about half way as you sew. Ask me how I know that!!!
Deleteexactly with that last quote!!
ReplyDeleteFor sure!
DeleteBrilliant ideas for use of fabric, and Christmas idea.
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics are two of her favourite things.
