Four? Check!!

 Yes, there are four!
(pairs of socks, that is)

This is the final pair of the set:

All are made with Paton's Kroy yarn using my usual generic pattern.

Today is Independence Day in the US.  I would be remiss if I didn't wish my blogging friends from there a happy day.  With all that's going on in that country right now, I'm sure not everybody feels like celebrating.  I saw a quote attributed to John Collins which said "It feels weird to celebrate our independence, when it's pretty clear we're losing it".  There's a lot of truth in that.

- There are links HERE to some really cute doll designs.

- And HERE is something else you might like to try if you're into doll making.

- For those of you who like to paint with watercolours, perhaps some of the tips found HERE might be of interest.

- If you're interested in junk journals (or just want to have a peek through an amazing example) go HERE.

Today's quote is from Booker T. Washington.... "Great men cultivate love, only little men cherish a spirit of hatred"

  1. I had actually forgotten about the 4th of July until this morning when I was trying to make appointments. "Independence Day" is just a cruel joke at this point.

    1. It seems like it's getting more cruel (crueler?) by the day.

Sherryofcreateology: Dear MA I do not know how you find such perfect quotes for “We the People of America” however I believe you really care what is happening to us. Thank You with Love! I adore Tilda and have several of her books with patterns, Unfortunately I have never made anything from those books and patterns. Shame on Me! Blessings Dear. P.S. I do not celebrate July 4th with Fireworks. Yesterday was our 26th Wedding Anniversary…not including our 10 years of dating.

    1. The quotes seem to be easy to find these days. Happy, albeit now belated, anniversary to you and Wayne.
I had a couple Tilda books and, in a fit of downsizing, I got rid of them. Of course that was BEFORE we had a little girl in the family. Hindsight, right?!

  5. Thank you for the happy thought. I am one of the majority very thankful for today, because I was really frighten the last four years with our country going into such great debt and being overrun by goodness knows who sneaking into our country.
I have very high hopes after yesterday. Glad to know horrible major criminals are being rounded up and not running free. So I'm celebrating big today.

  10. i wrote a bunch of words, but they disappeared before i hit the publish button - just as well, i was responding to one of the comments above ...... i love my country and i fear my current government - that's not being unpatriotic ... and i'll still wave the star spangled banner because this, too, shall pass...

    1. Not unpatriotic at all. Sadly the belief systems that were once so strong are now being put in question and it's frightening.

    1. It seems like it's the wrong time of year to be doing socks but at least they're finished and ready to deliver.
