Two more things

Here is the second completed sweater - done with the same yarn (different colourway, although still 'denim' blue)  and using the same basic pattern as the one I showed you in my previous post...

And....here's another little completed cross stich project - our #1 grandie is currently reading Harry Potter books so I thought he'd enjoy having a themed bookmark.

The lettering around the bottom reads "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'.

Today's quote..."If I waited until I had all my ducks in a row, I'd never get across the street.  Sometimes you just have to gather up what you've got and make a run for it"

  1. Wow the denim sweater looks just like a little denim jacket...how sweet is that! Love the idea of the "dignity scarf"....and wouldn't those apple coasters make lovely pot holders when the pattern is enlarged??

    1. I've always been a sucker for a guy dressed in denim (no matter what his age!) so I couldn't resist making sweaters with this yarn. And what a great idea for apple pot holders!

  2. Another gorgeous sweater. And I love that bookmark - cute and clever and you put the fun in functional. I can see that scarf as an art smock for the littles in a smaller size.

    1. I try to create fun things for the grandies - one day they won't appreciate hand made things so I'd better get my dibs in now!

  3. The sweater and bookmark are cute.
    The hippo is adorable.
I like the dignity scar design. It looks more comfortable to wear than a bulky knit.

    1. That hippo, even though I'm not a hippo 'person', certainly made me smile.
I'd never come across dignity scarves before but what a wonderful thing for seniors in particular. They want to look stylish and having to wear a bib has to be demeaning.

  4. About getting my ducks in a row: first find my ducks.

That's a lovely little cardi there.

    1. I just hope the sweaters will fit! When I don't see the boys in person it's hard to really judge their size.

  6. You are so good at the things you do! Those little sweaters are wonderful! Your little guys are definitely going to be dressed to a T this winter and warm too! Now I am going to take a look at the virtual quilt show.

    1. They'll be warm as long as they fit - I think they will and quite probably might be a little large. No worries on that though, kids do tend to grow!

    1. It's fun knitting the sweaters now but I'm not sure that will carry over to when they grow too much more!

  8. The cardigan is perfect for your GS, the H Potter bookmark with the saying made me laugh. I can see why you Had to smile at the hippo. I sure did. Love the coasters.

    1. The saying on the HP bookmark is a quote from the books so it was fitting for the theme. Also used up a scrap of denim from my stash.

    1. I'm really enjoying making the sweaters and that's partially because I really do like the Lion Brand Jeans yarn. And I hope he likes the bookmark!

    1. I must admit I'd love one of those sweaters for myself but then I remember how much knitting is involved and I get over it.
