This is the final cross stitch project I had planned (hooray, sez you?)
I wanted to make a Scottie dog for my Australian cousin and this design caught my eye. Now I just have to decide what to turn it into. It measures about 4" wide. Any ideas???- Have a look through the gallery of THIS amazing artist!
- And look at THIS! It's crocheted by an artist named Beata Bylinka. Unfortunately she only seems to have a presence on Facebook but at least this link shows just some of her work.
- There are a number of cute Halloween projects HERE.
Today's quote is from George Bernard Shaw..."Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance"
Not sure, but I think it would look really cute as an ornament.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all your needlework so hopefully you have lots more coming.
God bless.
I thought of that too but I think it's a weeny bit large for that (it measures about 4"). And don't worry, there's plenty still left on my to do list!!
ReplyDeletePin cushion?
ReplyDeleteNot sure she would want to poke pins into her beloved dog (even if this one isn't real!). Since it will be mailed to her I'd like to keep it fairly flat to keep costs down.
DeleteIs there any way to make it into a scarf tie? It is so cute, even as a pin it would get the attention it deserves.
ReplyDeleteThink it might be too large for a pin or scarf tie - the stitching part measures about 4" across. Otherwise that would be a great idea!
DeleteLove your Scottie dog. I'm sure you will come up with something good. The crochet link is eyecatching.
ReplyDeleteI have an idea in mind but looking forward to seeing if there's a better idea out there.
DeleteHow about using it as a cute pillow front insert? Could be changed out by season or occasion. Check these out:

Great idea! But - postage is an issue. From here to Australia is bad enough without adding extra bulk....but I like the idea of a little pillow.
DeleteIs she a reader? Is it too big for an eyeglass case, or maybe a paperback cover? Adding that quote to my favorites.
ReplyDeleteAfraid I don't know if she wears glasses but that could be a good idea. If nothing else, she must use sunglasses....hmmmmm......
Deletethe scottie dog is so adorable! Maybe a zipper bag to carry charging cords?
ReplyDeleteAnother great idea! I'm glad I asked because I'm getting all sorts of ideas I hadn't thought of.
DeleteThat is a cute Scottie! Since postage is an issue, I suggest you envelope a backing, attach a ribbon for hanging, either on a tree or wall.
ReplyDeleteYes, postage is always the issue so whatever I do it has to be pretty flat.
DeleteI always imagine envelope style pillows. Use scrap strips building around the needlework log cabin style. Or, if your cousin wears aprons consider the doggie being front and center on the chest or a pocket?
ReplyDeleteI have to keep the postage costs in mind with whatever I do so a pillow is kind of out of the equation. An apron is a thought but I don't know how washable the cross stitching would prove to be. Hmmm.....
