A trussed up chicken?

Why, no, not a chicken but a mattress!

You can't see in the photo, but it's tied to our wonderful little cart.  Resident Chef pushed and I pulled our way to the elevator (only bumped into the wall a couple of times....and they're painting them anyway, so it doesn't matter). I'm blaming his driving skills on that.  Waited til the dark of night to attempt this rather dubious enterprise and wouldn't you know, there would be a man in the lobby who took one look and wanted to know what on earth we were doing.  I'm sure he went away talking to himself about the crazies that live in this building.  If nothing else, we do provide a certain amount of entertainment to the masses.

Now we hope the recyling guys picked it up before it gone rained on this afternoon.

And, further on the fridge saga - it is now residing quite comfortably on top of the table and Resident Chef is happy.  It's loaded with all the preserves and doing the job quite nicely.  Now....to find another table to replace the original in the living room.  Yep - it's the galloping ick at work once again.

- I think THIS is cute - and useful too.  I might consider embiggening the pattern just a bit and it would be perfect to carry a mask.

- All I can say is wow over THESE!

- HERE is an idea for something you could make for kids (or adults too, for that matter).

- Have a peek through the galleries of THIS artist.

Today's quote..."Don't compare your life to others.  There's no comparison between the sun and the moon.  They shine when it's their time"

  1. Do true about compatible. Youre comparing their outside to your inside. Apples to earthquakes.

  2. Well I don't know what to do with my life now that the mattress-refrigerator saga has come to an end! haha....but I'm sure you and "Resident Chef" will have wonderful new funny adventures to keep us entertained!
I love the quote and it is so true. Mother-wise I shone quite early in life....career-wize quite late but it all turned out wonderfully! I have no regrets.........

    1. They've worked out - the 'wellness' of the process left somewhat to be desired.

  6. Your mattress looked a bit like a tied up peice of bread. Until I actually the words. Glad you got that out to the recyclers. What a relief that must feel like. Getting rid of large things can be so challenging.

    1. Getting rid of large things in apartment buildings is definitely a challenge, for sure. It would be helpful if we had access to a truck (and a couple of able-bodied muscle-y guys!). And...I don't think I'd want to try chomping on THAT particular piece of bread!!
