An almost finish

According to the directions for the online class this project is now a flimsy ready to quilt.  However I'm a bit of a rebel so I have decided to add to it.  Two reasons for that - the fact that it only measures about 54" square right now AND the fact that I still have stash to use up.  So, onward I go....and you'll have to wait to see what happens next.

It's really hard to get a decent picture, particularly on a dull day but this is the best I can come up with.

Today's quote is from Helen Keller - "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much"

  1. I think every artist is somewhat of a rebel. I am sure what happens next will be good! :~)

    1. I agree! Altho' in this case it could be more of a case of wanting to use up stash!

    1. I've been working on using up some of my over-abundant stash for a couple of years and I honestly think that this particular project is going to put a really serious dent in my vintage linen drawer. Definitely happy about that!

  3. Such interesting links MA. I like the entire collection. You may be adding to your quilt but also destashing. What a bonus. Helen's quote is perfect for the current time. Enjoy your day!

    1. Glad you enjoyed the links - they're always fun to search for. And yes, we could all do well to pay attention to Helen Keller's words.

  4. This vintage linens flimsy to become a quilt would also make such a lovely tablecloth or picnic blankie...but not to get dirty of course. Another wonderful quote.

    1. Hmmm - tablecloth, now that's a good idea (IF I used a tablecloth!). I guess I could be like my mother and use a tablecloth but make sure it is covered with plastic at all times. Yeeew - hated that, but I guess not as much as she hated washing the cloth!

    1. I'm having fun with the quilt - never thought I'd say that. I guess it's because it's close to being a crazy quilt in some ways.
