A teeny bit of progress

Yes, there's been a teeny bit of progress on the landscape but the picture doesn't really show all that much because some things are happening behind the scenes (hopefully those will become apparent later in the week).

I've started working on the grass and the entire thing has been sandwiched with batting ready for me to start the actual stitching on the grass area as well as the sky, both of which have to be done before I can go on with some of the other details.

Today's quote..."Never underestimate the power of a woman and her sewing machine"

    1. Interesting to know that my work has rhythm - because the maker certainly doesn't!

  3. Looking good. I like the rippling on the fawn section. Some nice links too- love the stockings.

    1. I think the ripple you see is as a result of my basting it to the quilt bat. Those should disappear as I go.

  4. Landscape is coming together so well--I just don't know how you can translate those photos into beautiful quilts...

    1. Thank you Julierose - it's currently at the stage of me thinking seriously of starting over but I know from being there many times already that this will pass. At least I'm hopeful it will!

  6. Another fantastic landscape in the making. On a quilt such as your landscapes progress might sometimes seem slow to you but there always seems to be much going on behind the scenes. I look forward to seeing your imaginings unfold.

    1. Thank you Kim. Many people are astounded at how many hours it takes me to do part of these - an entire afternoon of stitching just on the grass alone and that doesn't count the time spent making the fringes. And then they complain at the amount I charge. Good thing I make them because I enjoy the process!

  8. The openings in the barn totally change it's personality. :) Some of the snowflake patterns you've listed to in some of my Advent Calendar project bags. Of course, I have no way of knowing if they are in ones in bags I didn't open (that I passed by this week and last), or if they are in future bags. I'm hoping for the later. One way or another, though, I think I'm going to manage to make some this month.
