Christmas box addition

Our youngest grandson is just the right age to enjoy cloth books and when I stumbled across this one I simply HAD to make it for him.  It's  a pre-printed panel and was really easy to make.

Of course I had to change it somewhat and I used the trapunto technique to highlight the bear on the cover.

This shows one of the inside spreads in the book.

Today's quote is from Lori Deschene..."Practice the pause.  Pause before judging.  Pause before assuming.  Pause before accusing. Pause whenever you're about to react harshly and you'll avoid doing and saying things you'll later regret"

  1. It's a good quote that I should try to remember! Love that little book.

    1. I think practicing the pause is a good thing but of course there's 'degrees' of pause that enter into it!

  2. Love your little cloth book, especially the trapunto bear. x
Alison Whateley and Rachel Wright have some great textile pictures.
Alison's "Golden Moor" and Rachel's daffodils - very inspirational.
    Great research, Mary Anne. :-)

  3. Love the air purifying plants--I will be on the lookout for some...our grocery does carry some plants...I used to have quite an indoor garden in our old house, but not much in the way of plant windows here...that reminds me, I have to re-pot my two small Christmas cacti into one larger pot...;)))
that is the cutest cloth book--I'll bet that will be much read and loved...hugs, julierose

    1. Resident Chef has developed worse allergies than mine so I will be searching for those plants too. Not that I have anywhere to put them!

  5. Oh and I've ended up with about 9 of those plants in my house. My peace lily is blooming right now. Hope that's a sign.

    1. Would that we could take the peace lily blooms as a sign of things to come...wouldn't that be wonderful!

  6. That is definitely a good quote to practice daily! I love the cloth book and have become quite a lover of the panels used for them. I've used them to make children's quilts too. I didn't realize my spider plant would be happy with next to no light.....every spring I take most of my house plants out to the patio where they thrive all summer til it's time to come back in where they are really not as happy......but not frozen...lol......

    1. Resident Chef moves his started-from-a-pip lemon tree in and out with the seasons but I've seen it appear in the living room as yet and suspect he's sticking to what he said about letting it go and letting the frost take care of it. He can always start another one.

  7. Your grandson's soft, little bear book is sweet. Fabulous the panels were already printed. Gosh, you have showcased some amazing artists today. Everyone artwork these artists have created is exquisite.

    1. I love plants but there's not much window space here so I have to limit what I have. I tried and English ivy once and managed to kill it in short order but I'll have to try it again if I can get my hands on one.
