Here we go again!

This morning I received a notification from Blog-grrrrrrr that they're changing things.  Again.  Why mess with something that's working....and telling us it's going to be 'improved' and oh so much 'better'.  Guess they don't subscribe to the old adage that if it ain't broke don't fix it!!  I'm testing it out right now so we'll see.  By the way it appears all of us will be over to the new format by sometime in June.    As of this moment it doesn't look TOO bad although I had a hard time figuring out how to continue working on this post (I add things to it as I come across them and then just finish it off prior to hitting 'publish').  I finally pushed the right button, but now darned if I can remember which one it was!!  I also prefer working with large print now (growing cataracts means I can't see as well as I used to) and it flatly refuses to give it to me.  Who knows what it will appear like when I do hit publish!

Okay - now THAT particular rant is over, how about an updated view of the landscape?  Here goes.....

Well, that was an interesting experiment in frustration!  Actually it didn't cause me too much angst to figure it out, but from what I can see at this moment I no longer have the option to embiggen the photo and I also can't caption it.  Hmmm.  Oh well, you can simply click on the picture to embiggen it.  I think.  I hope.  (will somebody let me know please??)

- I came across THIS and thought that anyone who weaves might find it interesting.

- There's a tutorial HERE for adding a pocket when you're making a bag or purse.

- Sometimes I come across a little something that I just feel the need to share.  I'm sure you all have need of knowing THIS (and why didn't I think of it??!!).

- I expect most little girls would love one of THESE (big girls too, most likely!).

Today's quote (appropriate perhaps?)....."Don't be afraid of change.  You may end up losing something good, but you will probably end up gaining something better"

Stay safe. Stay well.

Okay - hitting publish.....fingers crossed.....
If you don't hear from me, you'll know the entire thing blew up.

  1. Beautiful progress! I like what you've done.
And I was able to 'embiggen' the photo easily.
I'm sorry for the frustrating changes, you'll figure it out and
    come out on top!

  2. Barbara over at "CatPatches.blogspot" has done a lot of research on the new and improved (HAH--they somehow save $$ I figure and to heck with us!!) blogger--you might want to go over and read her post today...If this gets too daunting I will just quit blogging...it is supposed to be easy and fun!! Right?

I love the tree addition and the side of the road addition...nice work..

    1. I actually didn't find it too difficult - it just takes a little getting used to in order to know what buttons to push. I expect likely after a couple of posts I will have it figured out. You'll see quite a change when next you see the landscape!

  3. The Blogger changes take getting use to. As time goes one, more folks blogging and such, a template needs updating to save space, make it easier, more current. I like the new Blogger style.

    1. We are human and we resist change! I don't think it will take a whole lot to figure it out - fingers firmly crossed!

  4. I agree that that message from Blogger was disturbing. I hadn't planned on changing anything. I tried the new platform today. I think I've figured out a few things. You can add a title/caption to your photo and change the size by clicking on the photo and a box opens below it that gives you three choices to position it and then there's a pencil beneath it. Click on the pencil and it allows you to edit the photo (add title, change size). If that pencil doesn't work, click on the photo icon again and you will get a box to open that has more info. To change your font size click on the T's and it gives you a choice to work with. Not sure if I'm going to stay with the old/legacy blogger or go with the new. Too much change is confusing.

    1. Thanks Lorraine - I hadn't progressed far enough to figure out the photo aspect thoroughly so your tips will come in handy. From what I understand, for now we have the option to stick with the previous format, but in the next month or so we will have to change to the new one.

  5. I too saw the blogger surprise this morning and briefly checked it out. Funny it was done so to be able to use your phone. Problem is it's just doesn't seem as compact as the old, esp to look at stat page. I didnt think about trying to create a post. Guess I'm just waiting for them to force me. I figure someday it will all be destroyed. Google has been good about dumping stuff. The dice idea is a good one.

    1. Yes, I suspect the change is meant to make it easier for the people who use their phones for everything. I don't have one of those types of phones so I haven't a clue about that part of it. And yes, it does appear as though it will be a done deal in the next month or so.

    2. A lot of people are finding a lot of glitches with the new interface. As for your landscape....'tis looking great.

    3. Only one glitch that I've really found (so far!) and it's not so much a glitch as just different (see my response to Judy's comment below).

  6. I often blog completely from my phone, or tablet, never from my laptop. So I hope I can upgrade my comprehension! I wonder if they've fixed the comment notification yet. It's not working for me, but after I moderate and publish comments I get THREE email notifications telling me I did it!

    1. I've given up on the comment moderation part of it and don't rely on what comes into my email at all. I always read and approve the comments directly on my blog....otherwise I miss too many. One of the reasons I've started responding directly on my blog to comments as well. I haven't received 3 notifications from anything - yet!!

  8. The new Blogger thingy ? I converted over yesterday but I wasn't able to open one of my blogs. Today I could. Also I couldn't figure out at first how to start a new post until I saw the BIG orange button on the bottom right. Arrrggghhh......:)

    1. I suppose these new changes can be viewed as something to challenge/amuse us while we're stuck at home? Thank you for telling me about the big orange button - I would have had to search for that mystery and you've saved me the angst!

  9. The Barn is looking so good with each addition. The tree and quilting lines make a difference too. Lovely work MA. Blogger change...I found the picture enlarged, perhaps twice the size shown here, not the usual Big page shot.

    1. Each step makes the landscape look a little better - it's all about layers I guess. As for the picture embiggening - thank you for letting me know how it's showing up for you. I wonder if a double click on it would make it even larger for you?? On my end of things it embiggens a teeny bit but not what I saw with the previous format.

  10. I haven't tried the 'new blogger' format yet. The barn is coming along. good luck.

    1. The new format isn't really that bad once you figure out which buttons do what and where they've hidden them. The only problem I've really found so far goes back to the discussion that was held here over the way I was publishing the links. I don't think I can simply choose that option and have it happen automatically so I"ll have to train my brain to do it manually for each link. A nuisance, but I can't see any other option at the moment. Hopefully they'll address that.

  11. I was a little miffed originally at the thought of having learn blogging anew, but having eased into it now, it really isn't that bad. A little more familiarity and we will hardly remember that it has changed.

    1. I was miffed too but am discovering it's not all that bad. There are a couple of things I would prefer the way they were previously but I guess we can't have everything.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
