A progress report

I finally got back to putting a few hours in to the latest landscape and this is the result...

It's pretty much at the stage when I'm not sure whether to scuttle it and start over.  I know from experience now that I need to just work through it and (hopefully!) it will come out okay in the end.  Time will tell!

Today's quote is from Nikita Gil...."Be the kind of person who is not afraid to ask someone if they are okay twice if they say they are, but look like they are not.  Be the kind of person who smiles at people even if they don't smile back.  Be the kind of person you wished for when no one was there for you.  Be the kind of person who is brave enough to stand alone in a crowd for what is right.  Be that person because we need more people like that in the world.  Be that person because people like that are rarer than the rarest diamonds and gold"

Be safe. Be well.

  1. Yes, that stage where you wonder why you thought this might work. Then you go on and see? I told me so!

    1. I love the 'I told me so' - I should print that one out and frame it and hang it right above where I work!

  2. I took a look at the before and the after and I think you are on a roll. Keep going!

    1. Thanks - I plan to keep going, even though I always have doubts at this stage. So far I haven't thrown one out so I shall carry on.

  3. Funny how we see potential in your work and you doubt it. Yep, keep on going. You are so talented.

    1. Comes down to confidence and self doubt, something I suffer from anyway. Being self taught in pretty much everything I do means I have to learn it all and sometimes it's the hard way. On the other hand, the lessons are never forgotten!

    1. Thank you! I loved those knits too - not something I would ever attempt to do, but I certainly admire the talent involved.

  5. Now why would you scuttle this? It is coming together so beautifully;))
I love the little snow-covered tress off to the left...and the weathered barn is great...

    1. I guess when you've been staring at it for several days it starts to look terrible and I can see all the imperfections that need to be addressed before I can move on. I'll get there!
It's not Memorial Day here in Canada - but we had our 24th of May (Victoria Day) long weekend last week.

  9. Oh no, don't start over. I am loving it. The wood planks on the barn look amazing. I can't wait to see more magic you weave on this piece.

    1. I never start over, but I sometimes wish I could. I know now, after having done as many as I have, that I'll get past this stage.

    1. Thank you Judy - I've been working on it and it looks quite a bit different now. Re the glue gun/resist thing, it might have been here that you saw it because I remember it too. After all this time I do run the risk of repeating myself!

  11. It's good to read above that you don't really plan to scuttle this. I'm dying to know what those blue things are on the roof of the barn. Solar panels? Blue tarps? Sky lights? lol I know you're going to blow me away when you reveal what they are. And it's going to be an "Of Course!" moment for your readers.

    1. You're just going to have to wait and see what those blue things are - hee hee. Not that I'm truly making you wait, but it's going to be one of the last areas that gets completed.
