Landscape reveal
The latest landscape has reached the buyer so I am now able to show you....
SOLD!
Below is the original photo ...
Photo credit: Laureen Catchpole-Heatley and used with her very kind permission
Oh wow, your landscape is fabulous...AND...it is SOLD!! Congratulations to you! It is a beautiful representation of the photo. Isn't Dolores's improv wreath a beauty. It would look gorgeous on a door celebrating the festive season.
Thanks Kim - I had fun making this one! I wish we could have a wreath on our door but fire regulations in apartment buildings don't allow it (altho' some people ignore the law and do it anyway).
So fine, Mary Anne! You've captured the autumn colors well, and I love the detail of the flowers at the fence posts. And you know what??? The grain elevator in your blog header took me by surprise. I had to go looking for it, and sure enough... while I had commented on it while it was in progress, somehow I missed the final product early in June! It's gorgeous, too! I'm so glad you change out your header picture. I enjoy seeing your beauties again.
Thanks Becki! The grain elevator now resides in Alberta, where it belongs. As for changing my header, I get bored with the same thing so I'm sure my readers do too.
Hello Mary Anne, Wow, didn't the landscape turn out well! The recipient is very happy with it, I am sure. I wish I lived nearer to you, I'm sure you could give me plenty of tips on fabric collages. Thank you, Mary Anne, for your continued talent! Val (UK)
Thank you Val - she's received it and will be gifting it at Christmas to someone else (the actual owner of the barn I think). Wish you lived closer too - wouldn't we have fun!!
:) FanTASTIC, old blogging friend! Now it's time i think to get your ass to some galleries for these works! And i may just have some abandoned old house photos to "donate" to the cause :)
Hah - there's only one gallery in this little area and it's SOOOOOO elitist that unless your family came off the ark you can forget any sort of welcome there. Wonderful thought though! As for photos - they're always welcome.
Congratulations Mary Anne on your first sale. You put lots of thought and happiness into making these fabric quilts and it shows. I hope there will be many more leaving home. I'm sure the new recipient will be surprised and pleased to own this one. Well done!
Not actually my first sale, but the first one to someone who doesn't know me personally. I'd love for more to leave home so I can continue with my passion and not feel TOO guilty!
Art type towns - I live in a farming and retirement community so sadly there isn't much in the way of art here, beyond the more traditional paintings whether that be oils/acrylics or watercolors. There are 'crafts' but my work doesn't fit that particular niche either. Trust me to be difficult!!
Another wonderful landscape! I love the autumn colors in that one! Congrats on having a buyer, too. Those cash-giving ideas are wonderful, and I store them on a Pinterest board year-‘round. This year my college age grandson E is getting a Bob Ross coloring book and crayons. All the crayons are wrapped with $$bills. Last year we did the box of chocolates/cash. Next year... tampons with cash (if I get up enough nerve! The other family members are egging me on).
Bob Ross seems to be everywhere these days - interesting! Love the idea of the crayons wrapped in $$. As for the tampons - depending on the person and their sense of humour - do it!
Thank you Quinn. I'm looking forward to seeing my next creation too - it's percolating in my brain right now so hopefully I'll be able to get started soon.
Congratulations Dear. Your Landscape Quilts are amazing. What a wonderful gift to give someone of their own piece of land memento. I really like today’s quote. Wonderful Week Ahead...
Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeing a Moon is a good thought, lovely wuote.
I like that quote too - would that more people would be moons.

DeleteIt's fabulous! I just love the red frame.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki! I had a small piece of that reddish-orangeish fabric in my stash and thought it fit in quite well.

DeleteIt doesn't have to be a local gallery..are there any arty type towns in your region, where you could place pieces?

DeleteHi Maryanne what beautiful work, you are so clever my friend xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheryl! For me clever vs. stubborn - stubborn wins every time!
DeleteCongratulations on the sale. Great job!! Do you have another one planned?
ReplyDeleteThank you Judy. Yes, there's another one in my mind (well, several!!) and I'll be starting it soon.

ReplyDeleteI hope the final recipients are pleased with it - the buyer was, but she's gifting it to the property owners and we won't know until Christmas.
DeleteWhat another beautiful landscape! I am sure the recipient was delighted with it! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThanks you Christine - I think I have too much fun with what I'm doing.
