The astute among you will have realized that I'm losing it (if you've read to the end of this post and realized that I repeated the exact same quote as I gave you last time!!). Yep, not only can I not remember WHY I've entered a room, but I can't remember quotes either!!! Sheesh.
Over the past couple of days I've been making this pillow to go along with the Super Mario quilt and bed pillowcase I already made. It will be a themed Christmas for our littlest grandson it seems!

I used a coloring page I found online for the pattern and then appliqued the pieces in place.
Today I have the final (at least for now!) in the little series I've been sharing..."As I get older I realize getting lucky means walking into a room and remembering why I'm there"
Adorable! The detail of your quilts always amazes me. You have real talent.
ReplyDeleteCan't have a little boy not have a co-ordinated bedroom set!
DeleteOh how true--I often find myself in a room and saying "Now what was it I was getting?" I usually do remember, but it is disconcerting for sure...;0000hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteIn our household it's called 'living in the hereafter' (in other words...what am I HERE after).
DeleteAre you trolling us by using this quotation twice???? I got quite disoriented there.
ReplyDeleteHah - I COULD say I was just seeing who was awake enough to notice, but that would not be the least bit true. Ooops.
DeleteYour Mario pillow reminds me of a quilt my husband's grandmother made for him (over 50 years ago) using coloring book pages to design the quilt blocks. My MIL took it apart 30 years and refinished it for our first-born son. I need to take a picture of it someday - though I suspect it's in pretty poor condition. Anyway... your little Mario may become an heirloom much further down the road than you might imagine. ;^)
ReplyDeleteColoring books sometimes have the best patterns. They are usually my go-to when I'm searching for ideas for something to make for the grandkids. As for an heirloom - who knows!
DeleteSo cute! You are going to be a hero!
ReplyDeleteAll any grandparent can hope for is to be a hero to their grandkids - thank you!
DeleteI'm just finishing a quilt for my great grand Nic done in Marvel heroes. When I told Terry that I am going to make a pillowcase with left over fabric. Then he asked me if pillow cases are supposed to match quilts or sheets. My answer was Who Cares. Nic love the pillow cases I have made for him. Glad you agree with making a matching case for a quilt.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
xx, Carol
I made him a pillowcase as well as this throw pillow - figure he might like both!
DeleteMario is super cute and your little Grandson will be thrilled with his gifts! Those little felted animals are precious. The artist is amazingly talented. Why did I enter this room??? Hahaha...
ReplyDeleteWish I had a dollar for every time either Resident Chef or I go wandering into a room and then stand there, in complete befuddlement. Then it requires a return trip to point of origin to refresh our memory....oh wait...squirrel.....
Delete"Here after' is funny!
ReplyDeleteIt's been a refrain in our household for years!
DeleteHi Maryanne wow what a beautiful cushion ,the themed gifts will be awesome for the little guy xx
ReplyDeleteMommy and Daddy are re-doing his room in a Super Mario theme so what's a grandma to do but help out!!
DeleteFabulous coordinating cushion Mary Anne.... and I loved the crocheted covered jars... really pretty! You don't need to worry about the repeating quote for me.... I had already forgotten that I had read it before!! LOL! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteOh phew - someone else that doesn't remember things either. Nice to know I'm in good company!! Those covered jars are definitely pretty - might be tempted to try that idea after Christmas.
DeleteCute, fun pillow! And the red bulky yarn does look good in a warm vest, good for winter.
ReplyDeleteI love vests in winter - just enough warmth without being bulky.
DeleteIt's that time of year. Your pillow is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy - hope it makes a little boy happy.
DeleteLovely pillow for the little one!
ReplyDeleteHe'll have a coordinated bedroom between what his Mommy and Daddy are doing and our additions. Hope he likes it!
