Another completed quiet book page....
This one is mostly felt with quilt batting for the clouds and the flowers are pre-made from the dollar store I think. Ooops - just noticed I forgot to add the door handle!!
Today's quote...."One day or day one. You decide"
Whoa! Those gingerbread houses are something else! And your little house quiet book page is so cute, Love the pictures in the windows!
ReplyDeleteI like to put family pictures in quiet books because then the little one will recognize people who are important to him as he looks through the book. I've never made a gingerbread house but definitely love looking at them.
DeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteThe simplest thing bobbin and thread is a nice idea. One day I'm going to try it. The produce elastics I've been saving can finally be put to good use.
Glad I found you a use for your produce elastics!
DeleteLove this sweet little house. I love the faces of your son and daughter-in-law and grandson, smiling in the windows. This little book is going to be a fabulous, one-of-a-kind book, Mary Anne.
ReplyDeleteThe house was fun to make although it was tricky finding appropriate photos to use and then getting them sized correctly to fit in the windows. I think I will wait to finish the cover until after the baby arrives and we have a picture that I can include.
DeleteLoving all the pages of the quiet book you are creating!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen - I'm having altogether too much fun I think!
DeleteHow many pages are you going for? It all looks like great fun and might earn the parents a few minutes to have a cup of tea while the baby's occupied.
ReplyDeleteI live anything that postpones screentime, so difficult for parents to monitor nowadays.
So far I have 11 pages with one more underway. Still have the outside cover pages to do but will wait until I have a photo of the new baby to use there. I need to figure out the putting together aspect next and see if I need another page or two.
DeleteLove not live, dangit.
ReplyDeleteha ha - I read it as love and had to go back and look wondering what you were talking about! Proves the brain just glosses it over.
DeleteI'm thinking a nice quilted cover.
ReplyDeleteThe plan, such as it is, will be to include a family picture, his name and his picture. Subject to change, of course!!
DeleteReally enjoy following along on your quiet book. Please allow me share my idea for bobbin to spool storage: https://joysjotsshots.blogspot.com/2014/02/sewing-organization-tip-storing-bobbins.html
ReplyDeleteThank you Joy - that's a great tip! And glad you're enjoying the quiet book too.
DeleteSuch a cute page with the family photos cosy inside their house and talking of houses the gingerbread houses were quite incredible!! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine. I do like including family photos just for added interest. I loved the gingerbread houses too but certainly won't be making any.
DeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Not quite a barn though, is it.
DeleteNor an elevator. It is beautiful and a work of art.
DeleteVery sweet, Mary Anne!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to put the family’s photos in the windows!
Hugs,
Barbara xx
Thank you Barbara. I always do put photos in my books, just to make them more fun.
DeleteHi Maryanne what a beautiful page ,this book is going to be amazing, well done my friend xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheryl. Hopefully it comes together okay in the end. Making the pages is fun but the finishing not so much!
DeleteGreat quiet page. Good Quote. The days are quickly approaching Christmas and gift giving...Yikes.
ReplyDeleteYep, the calendar marches on! I'm relieved that I got so much done earlier in the year because there are always things that crop up at the last minute that need to be done.
DeleteNice addition to the quiet book. All those gingerbread houses . . .!!! WoW
ReplyDeleteI always am astounded at the creativity that goes into gingerbread houses - can't imagine doing one though.
