On Tuesday afternoon I was able to make good progress on the landscape I'm working on...
and I was lucky enough to have the entire day at home on Wednesday (a rare occurance!) and I was able to get a bit more done...
The grass is pretty much done and I've added the treeline.
Here's another in the series of getting older quotes...The biggest lie I tell myself is "I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it"
Super gift ideas...I like how your landscape is coming...very nice...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThanks Julierose - I spent the entire afternoon working on the landscape trees and went through miles of thread.
DeleteVery nice and amazing quilting!
ReplyDeleteLove the links. First one Christmas gifts to make is great.
Amazing quilting? Ummmm....I wish I could do pristine free motion quilting like I see others do. According to the free motion police you're not supposed to cross stitching lines and I do it all the time!
DeleteHi Mary Ann, great texture and perspective work on your project!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to Michelle Palmer's 'Wren on Holly' stocking tutorial, so amazing.
Her other two stocking tutorials are beautiful too.
And the quote, funny, I'm beginning to understand that aging is a lot easier if I keep my sense of humor about the whole thing.
You're so right Janie - a sense of humour is what we all need.
DeleteLove your autumn quilt picture, Mary Anne. I wonder if it's a little thing to you, but my eye was immediate drawn to the shadow you created behind the structure. That fascinates me for some reason. I may just be weird, but it's details like that that tickle me when I notice them. :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm - there's a shadow. Hmmm. It's not intentional so must be a trick of the lighting?
DeleteI should have said on the left side of the structure (don't know why I said behind the structure). That's not a shadow? I'm curious what that dark shape is. I like it so much as a shadow, I'm not sure I want to see it as anything else. :)
DeletePhew! I was getting worried there for a minute. You're absolutely right - shadows are there!
DeleteOh good. That makes me happy. lol
DeleteWow...your trees look fantastic. I was drawn to the wagon inside the open barn. Lovely dimension on this Autumn Landscape dear. Great links and some wonderful ideas for gift giving. I am loving your quotes and definitely we need humor to endure the aging process. Creative Bliss...
ReplyDeleteThe trees look much different now! There's a lot more shading and putzing I have to do with it yet. Glad you like the quotes!
DeleteGood to here you had a free day to work on the Barn quilt. The colours are so alive and the line of trees look natural there. Thanks for the links to some good Christmas crafts. I've given up believing I'll remember things, and definitely write them down.
ReplyDeleteFree days aren't a normal thing around here so it's always a joy. And as for writing things down - it's definitely needful for me too!
DeleteGreat progress. I am always so glad when I have a day with no need to leave the house on the calendar.
ReplyDeletexx, Carol
Days like that are few so I always appreciate them when they happen. Had another one today so made quite a bit of progress.
DeleteI love those days too! So much sewing I want to do, but then the monsters (cats) always have their own ideas of what I should be doing!
ReplyDeleteGreat work Mary Anne! Off to visit your links next!
Hugs,
Barbara xx
I don't have any critters to distract me - only a husband and he stays out of my sewing room only to bring me coffee and call me for meals. Win/win!
DeleteGlad you have been able to have some fun playing with your landscape Mary Anne, it is looking beautiful! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteI often wonder if it's possible to have too much fun? Thanks Christine!
