Maybe, but then again....

Some additions, deletions, and distortions have happened.....which may, or may not have made it better....or worse.  Waffling?  Oh yeah!!!!

But, then again, perhaps this....

or maybe......

Well, tomorrow is another day and we'll have to see what
happens!

I do have a quote though....from Phil McGraw..."Sometimes you make the right decision, sometimes you make the decision right"

  1. I sure like the ground under the church in the top photo. It appears to mimic the dilapidated church more. Glad to know you are busy dear.

    1. Thanks Sherry - I'm still waffling and as of now have another plan in mind. We'll see!!

  2. You're not asking for opinions, so I offer this with trepidation... I'm not sure what you're not satisfied with the first picture, but so much rolling foreground in the bottom picture seems to take over, or at least compete with the building. I know you will work your magic and the finished picture will be amazing whatever you do, but I figure if you're waffling here you might be interested in some feedback. If you're not - please forgive. You are a wonder at this and I remain fascinated in your creative process. :)

    1. Becki - never hesitate to offer your opinion! I'm always grateful for any and all feedback, good or bad! I do agree with you that the bottom foreground IS too much, although the thought is/was to trim it back to about the same width as the one in the first picture. There's another idea percolating - going to another colorway - and see what that looks like. It's just not 'right' in my mind, so I will continue to test different ideas and see what ends up taking.

    2. Well, this is exciting. A possibly 'nother idea! I love seeing these pictures take shape and be in on it from the beginning. :)

  3. Experimenting is a good thing, how will you know if you don't give it a try?
And with improvising your own design, you have to be brave.
It's kind of like taking two steps forward and then one back.
Where's the seam ripper? My seam ripper and I are friends.
I'm sure you know all this.

    1. Oh yes - the frogging tool - whatever would we do without it!!

  4. It's good to see your various ideas and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next. Different fabrics/colours can make surprising changes. Today's quote is good.

    1. Yes, I'm full of ideas (some, however, would say I was full of something else...hah hah). Sometimes my ideas should remain exactly that and NOT get translated into the doing!

    1. Thanks for your faith in me Sheryl! It takes me awhile but I do eventually get there (or at least enough 'there' that I'm happy with it).

  6. I always have moments when I am making something, what ever, be it quilt, wall hanging, soft toys etc when I begin to dislike what I am making and woner how it will all go. Sometimes I even stash it away for a while to think again. I think it is great that things get added and subtracted and changed around.

    1. Yep, I always seem to go through a period when I want to chuck the entire thing and never try to do another landscape ever again. Then my stubborn gene kicks in and I refuse to give up.

    1. Oh yes, I'm playing the 'one step forward two steps backward' tango. Hard to do when I don't have a musical bone in my body!

  8. I think I prefer the foreground in the first picture. The church looks a bit 'lost at sea' in the second. I think everyone goes through these stages when creating..... I know I nearly always have a day when I nearly scrunch the whole thing up and put it in the dustbin.... time is always your friend!! Christine xx

    1. A third version has been created and I think (maybe, perhaps, hopefully) I'm happier. This one narrowly escaped the garbage receptacle and much muttering about the stupidity of biting off more than I can chew!

  9. Sometimes you need to step back and leave it alone for a bit. At least, that's what I do. It's looking good.

    1. Stepping back is a good idea - I spend a LOT of time contemplating what to do next (or trying to decide what I've done wrong!).
