Last week there were some surprises that arrived in my mailbox and I wanted to show them to you...
My camera isn't happy about taking pictures this close,
but the first surprise was a wonderful hand-painted
button in my favourite theme!
The details are incredible and I thank Gerry Krueger
so much for making this little treasure and
letting me give it a home.
Thanks Gerry!
The other thing that arrived in my
mailbox was a lovely little
book - from the creative fingers
of Liz (also known as Boud).
She used a commercial card for the
cover and inside I discovered some of
her handmade onion-skin paper!
UPDATED TO ADD:
the lovely card was from a
woodblock print created by
Hajime Namiki

Today your quote is from Karen Salmonsohn...."The older I get the more I realize the importance of walking away from people and situations which threaten my peace of mind, self-respect, values and self worth"
Your mailbox delivers the loveliest of things, doesn't it. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely lucky! It's such fun to go to the mailbox and discover a mystery envelope and know there' something special inside. SO much better than flyers and bills!
DeleteGlad you like it. This is a book that's meant to be painted and drawn in!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I have SUCH a problem with defacing books!!
DeleteGerry’s buttons are always so amazing and this one is perfect for you dear. Love the knitted slipper variations. The older I get the more I actually put this quote into practice. Happy Spring as we are having more rain.
ReplyDeleteGerry's buttons are indeed amazing - all the little details that I know don't show in my photo totally blow me away. And to think she has problems with her eyesight just makes it all the more amazing.
DeleteWhat beautiful surprises in the mail! Just love the button.... don't think I could paint that small, even if I could paint.... which I can't!! Christine xx
ReplyDeleteI can't paint small OR large so I'm totally in awe with that button.
DeleteUsing a note book is fine! And I'd like to give a shout-out to the wonderful woodblock art of Hajime Namiki, featured on the card.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reminder about the card artist - I will update my post to reflect that (meant to, but it slipped my mind at the time).
DeleteLovely surprises!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMust say that mailman-love happens when there's something fun in the mailbox!
DeleteWhat fun gifts! And beautiful, too! :)
ReplyDeleteFor sure! I feel blessed.
DeleteLucky you! Those are awesome gifts.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful treasures! Gerry's buttons are all so fabulous. This one is perfect! Hand made onion skin paper sounds and looks intriguing. Wishing you a fantastic week!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful button. What a lovely surprise.
