Hard to tell?

I know it's probably very hard to tell from the picture, but there actually HAS been a lot of stitching added to the church.  Just a little more to do and then it's on to the grass area.

Your quote..."Hate no one, no matter how much they've wronged you.  Live humbly, no matter how wealthy you've become.  Think positively, no matter how hard life is.  Give much, even if you've been given little.  Forgive all, especially yourself, and never stop praying for the best for everyone"

  1. Great stitching progress Mary Ann.
And I like the little bird nests, sweet.
    Good words to live by.

    1. I liked the wee bird nests too - don't suppose I'll ever make any, but they'd be fun to try.

    1. Thank you Barbara! I really liked the last one I did, but I think this one might just replace it in my affections. Oh so fickle!!

  3. There's been a lot of progress since I last visited you, Mary Anne. Your church is looking fabulous. Love the trees and all the stitching on the window and woodwork. I read your last post re the paint spillage...oh no....paint has a horrible way of messing with everything. So glad your artwork wasn't affected. I cannot believe how your fabric masterpiece looks so much like your picture....you are quite amazing!

    1. Oh good - you could see the stitching! I thought the photo rather looked as if it was identical to the last progress picture and that the stitching wouldn't be evident. Glad to know it is!

  4. Wow - you are FAST or else I'm just not on my blog as often as I used to be!! Probably both! This is so beautiful! I love old churches and can't resist stopping to photograph them when I see them. I love imagining what they were like when they were being used and how everyone dressed in their "Sunday Best" to go there or what the singing must have sounded like with few or no instruments.

    1. I love old buildings of any kind! I haven't been able to find any old churches in this area - most have either been torn down or have been turned into homes. Same goes for schoolhouses too. Barns are definitely easier to find.

  5. Looking great love the church and the birch trees! Every time I see a derelict building I think of you.... I know that doesn’t sound like a compliment but it really is.

    1. Thanks Shirlee - I definitely take that as a compliment! I love derelict buildings so it's a good thing.

  6. Fantastic! The amount of stitching doesn't always show up but adds so much to a project.

    1. Thanks Connie - it always surprises me just what adding stitching does to these projects. I sometimes wonder why I spend hours stitching an area but when I compare the before and after photos I can tell that it was a good thing.

  7. As Lauren said above: you do work fast! Great job!!! Don't know if I would have attempted this piece.

    1. Well, they say ignorance is bliss....and I'm definitely on that page! I probably did bite off more than I can chew with this one, but I won't know until I try. Wouldn't be the first time I've crashed and burned (and probably won't be the last either!!)

  8. Your Church is looking divine dear. So much wonder to be created yet so little time. I strive to do just what this quote says...however I am taking far too long achieving some parts.

    1. I wonder, as I work on the church, what happened to the congregation. Did they simply quit going or did they build a new one, or amalgamate with another. It's sad to know that it's been torn completely down now.

  9. I love seeing the progress of your stitching progress. Interesting article on the thread keeps - gives me an idea to use an old MOP belt buckle someone recently gave me.
