There is very little progress to show you this time, so I will give you a close up of the rail fence and the flowers...
I don't know if you can tell from this but I have started to enhance the flowers with embroidery. Doing that won't be a huge statement in the overall look of the piece but (hopefully!) will be a nice surprise when you look closely once it's done. You can also see (to the left in the photo) one of the seams I've embroidered using the machine. I wanted a stitch that blended in overall because I didn't want the seam treatments to make a huge statement and take away from the barns themselves. I've done the same thing in the sky. So it IS crazy quilted/embroidered but not glaringly so.
Another anonymous quote for you today..."The best place in the world is in the arms of someone who will not only hold you at your best, but will pick you up and hug you tight at your weakest moment"
Bellissimo!!
ReplyDeleteI think the embroidery on the flowers is such a nice surprise. It makes them come alive. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThe barn is coming along. Very nice. I usually add embroidery to my pieces too. Thanks for the links too.
ReplyDeleteI see your beautiful field of fresh flowers and they are so sweet. I always love Jenny’s stitchery projects. Excellent quote and fits my husband very well. <3
ReplyDeleteLike the over stitching/embroidery for the flowers!
ReplyDeleteI think the embroidery on the flowers will be a really wonderful thing for someone looking at it close-up. It's one of those touches that makes it EXTRA EXTRA special. :)
ReplyDeleteNice work Mary Ann. I think the embroidery on your flowers makes them dimentional, good choice.
ReplyDeleteAnd Jenny's pincushion and blog are beautiful and inspiring, thanks for the link.
