For lack of something better.....

Today was our monthly CQTeers meeting and, being that it was here, it was my turn to come up with something to make/create/do.  After falling head first down the rabbit hole that calls itself Pinterest for altogether too many hours to count, I came up with a recipe for a lovely hand scrub.  It's one of those really nice little treats that ends up costing next to nothing to make and yet makes you feel so good!  Win/win....right?

So....for lack of anything else to mumble about, I will share the recipe so you can make some too!

HAND SCRUB
(exciting name, huh?)

1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup olive oil
1/8 - 1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
(or almond, orange or lemon would be good too)

Mix together.
Store in tightly capped pretty jar. *

* or, do like I did and leave your mind at the door of the dollar store and forget to buy pretty jars and end up having to scrounge some plain jane canning jars instead....oops!!!

Today's quote is from Quentin Crisp.... "There is no need to do any housework at all.  After the first four years the dirt doesn't get any worse"

  1. we used to have a Dollar Store EVERYWHERE. NOW there are only a few good ones around. I stopped over the weekend and didn't get any cute jars, but I did get a bunch of cutting sheets. Someone in the CQ beginners class suggested using them for patterns and stencils.

  2. The scrub sounds good to use before stitching with silk thread.
Hmmmm, I'm not sure I could put Quentin Crisp's comment to the test. There are days though.........i wonder if anyone else has?

  4. I made this scrub and a foot soak I found recipes for on Pinterest along with bath cookies I found a recipe for in a library book and used them as Christmas gifts in 2013. I love, love, love the sugar scrub and had several ladies ask me for the recipe. Lovely choice! (Pinterest really is a rabbit hole, isn't it? But oh the ideas!)

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
