Before I get into the main part of the post I want to tell you that I've noticed something odd going on with my blog comments. Up until recently I have always received a copy of each comment in my email account so that I can approve them (dratted spammers!!) and from there I am able to respond to you directly. For some reason, known only unto Blog-grrrr or the blogging universe as a whole, I am not getting all your comments forwarded to my email and in a lot of cases I haven't responded to you because I didn't notice there was a problem until now. Being rather computer illiterate I don't know what I can/should do to rectify the situation. I haven't changed any of my blog settings so it can't be that. ANYWAY - my most sincere apologies if I haven't responded to you and please know that I do love your comments and treasure each and every one. I am still able to approve comments through my blog directly so I will be continuing to do that so rest assured your comments ARE being seen by me.
Now, I return you to your regularly scheduled mumblings...
Some of you may remember that I've been asked to make a 'sane' quilt, which is something I haven't done much of (and what I have done has been rather dismal). The pattern is a 'Rail Fence' set on point and requires a lot (!!) of 2 1/2" strips. This morning I mustered my courage and started cutting (with the help of a marvelous 'special' ruler on loan from my friend M.E.....thank you!). With relative ease and in a short amount of time I have the strips half done (and if my arthritic thumb hadn't started to complain I might have been able to finish the lot). Yay!! See?......
Phew, now you've gotten through all that, I will leave you with today's quote (from Ambrose Bierce).... "Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret"
I have about 3 bloggers that I email separately because their comments do not come directly to my email - as they should. It's been like this for over a year now and I don't know how to fix it and why just those 3?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the 'sane' quilt. Looks like you are off to a good start.
I get blogger to save my comments in on the awaiting moderation page and moderate from there. yahoo won't accept emails from blogger all the time. I fixed that by using an alternate email address in blogger to get my comments, and that works lovely.
ReplyDeleteDon't think that it cannot be your settings, Blogger is notorious for resetting things when they do updates. So, even though you haven't changed them, Blogger may have.
ReplyDeleteMA, The Arthritis Society of Ont has made me some thumb splits, does not cure of course but really helps.
ReplyDeleteThere is SO much truth in your quote! I am sorry your emails have not been coming through for all of your comments. (I keep getting messages from readers that cannot leave comments. Fixing it for one made problems for another. Sigh...)
ReplyDeleteThat is quite the collection of 2 1/2 inch strips!
I was SO excited that my wonderful hubby bought me a copy of the CQ Quarterly magazine for my birthday this month. :) Your block is just gorgeous!
the problem with the comments has to do with the commenters particular e-mail. i have the same situation with 2 of the people who comment on my blog. i find their comments on blogger but it never makes it to my e-mail box. one of them uses aol...and i know it is a problem with aol....there are others who create the same problem. there isn't anything you can do to fix it according to my research.
ReplyDeleteWow! Look at the amazing color in the new quilt! lol!
ReplyDeleteA new quilt, sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteI posted about this same situation when it occurred. It has to do with changes that were made with google when there was a mass hack about a year ago. I could explain why, but you might look back on my blog if you care to.
ReplyDeleteI use yahoo, but had to change my blog settings so that notices go to gmail. there I get the notice that a comment was made and I can moderate it, and then reply to the commentor from my gmail account.
It's a pain, but I understand why the change was made.
xx, Carol
I hope your li'l glitch sorts itself out. Good luck with your 'sane' quilt....sounds intriguing!
ReplyDeleteIt is always something new to figure out and as Carole says, we may not know settings have been changed.
ReplyDeleteThe quote....hard to take back words spoken in anger.
xo,
Deb
Thanks for the link back to CQMagonline.
ReplyDeleteI followed it constantly when it ran and have just spent more time than I could afford, but Most enjoyably, going through the episodes again... so I don't regret the visit.
