Not bad, for something that hasn't cost me anything!
The backing will be leftover pieces of flannelette, most likely pieced together to
fit the final size of the blanket.
We recently discovered that our community has a wonderful program whereby people can purchase a large box of local produce (or at least in-season) for a really reasonable sum. We miss the goodies we used to get from our garden, so we decided we'd try it out. Yesterday we picked up our first box...
Not a bad haul for $15!!
And, it comes with recipes too!
The recipes are one of my favorite parts of my farmshare, too! just new ideas, even if I don't actually do them, being already pretty opinionated...you have lucked into a great deal there.
ReplyDeleteThe co-op is a great way to help local growers and for you to get fresh produce!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the velvet piece and so nice it was all given to you.

Lovely start on the velvet quilt! Will you be embellishing it as well?
ReplyDeleteI love your velvet 'bits' quilt - it's looking so pretty. How lovely of some one to pass the box of pieces on to you.
ReplyDeleteWhen the children were young I belonged to a Co-op and bought our fruit and veges this way - all in season makes sense!
Love the idea of adding recipes, now that's good marketing!
love and hugs
