BEHOLD.....
Perfectly good watercolour paper being sacrificed for the sake of art??
This unqualified example of mess is a combination of different yarns glopped (good word!) onto the paper with a mixture of white glue and water. EVERYTHING is covered with it. It got to the point where my fingers were sticking to each other, to say nothing about the scissors and the table and the brush and....well, you get the picture I'm sure. I never had the pleasure of going to kindergarten so does this mean I'm in my second childhood?
The rest of my day has been spent throwing watercolour paint and water around with gay abandon and making yet another huge mess with gesso.
Colour me happy!!!!!!!!!!!
messing about is such a happy thing to do ...k.
ReplyDeleteJust playing is important! You did good MA!
ReplyDeletegood job you are nowhere near my throw or you would be fixed with ''the look of death''!! and of course you can say you like it, I'm glad someone does!!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks appealing and, of course, a fish is in there. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. Glad to see you're back in the creative (messy?) mode.
ReplyDeleteThis looks very interesting.
ReplyDeleteOh, isn't playing fun? I'll enjoy watching what happens next!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't use a paint brush? Gotta be fun.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to use this as a collagraph plate? It would make a great print.
ReplyDeleteI still get a chance to be make a mess and get paid for it as I work in a Kindergarten with 3/4 year olds. Yesterday I introduced them to the fun of shaving foam printing. What ae you going to do with your creation now???
ReplyDeleteNow you see why children love finger painting so much!

ReplyDeleteOh that sounds like such a fun time! I'm so glad you got to make a mess :) It is freeing to just start "glopping" and seeing where it takes you. I love how that turned out, very underwater looking ... can't wait to see what you do next with it.
ReplyDeleteah what fun Mary Anne ... perfectly delightful ... I think "playing" is what its all about!!!
ReplyDeleteoxo
Sounds like you had a lot of fun though, sometimes making a mess just let's you relax and be in the moment, great idea using the yarn like that to make art.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you could cover it with the tissue and glue and water like I use on my bookmarks, I bet that would be a great texture :)
