It's only money

We have reached the ultimate conclusion that we're just too darned old and decrepid to consider painting the walls ourselves, so...we've consulted with a pro who is much more able to crawl on the floor and swing from the ceiling.  The paint we chose is THIS one which I think (hope) will marry well with the fabric I chose for the fusion quilt (picture of that is in my previous post).  I really do hate choosing paint colours because I'm always terrified of making a huge mistake - and at the cost of paint these days one doesn't want to have to repaint if we don't like it.

Now I await deliveries of fabrics, yarn and threads so I can start the quilt.

And duh - I had plans to show you the cross stitch postcard I made as a get well giftie - and guess who put it in the mail, forgetting entirely to take a picture of it.  Ooops.

- THIS is a pretty afghan design.

- I can see a number of possible uses for THIS.

- THIS would make a really pretty fall bouquet.  And if you look HERE you can find links to lots of other flowers too.

- I like the textile creations of THIS artist.

Today's quote..."People don't defend what's right anymore; they defend who they like, even when they know that person is wrong"

  1. Sounds like a wise plan to get someone to do the painting. Said by someone who only stopped painting her walls at 84. But that's me. I gave away my painting equipment so as not to be tempted to do just one more room..

    1. I have a bad shoulder so can't wield the roller and my knees won't let me get up and down off the floor and am afraid of heights so getting up to do the top of the wall just plain isn't safe. The RC is 83 and has sciatica so we make a real good pair of gimps.

  2. Harvey has said that next year is the year of the house, and he has no intention of doing the painting. I am okay with touch ups but any thing else I am liable to step in the paint tray and track it all over (I have done this). I am allowed to paint outside if I am careful. LOL. We will hire someone to do the ceiling and I think I want to change the paint in the bathroom and hall as well.

    God bless.

    1. We have realized that we've reached the point where trying to do the painting ourselves is not worth the aches and pains afterwards, so we're happy to pay someone else. We've had this paint colour for 15 years and figure that if the new colour lasts for equally as long, we won't be here to care.

  3. my comment didn't go through this morning and now i don't remember what brilliant thing i had to say ... snort ... it might have been something like 'the new paint color will be awesome and you'll love it ... or you'll hate it ... but i'm sure it will be the first option '

    yeah, something like that...

    1. Ok - yep, we'll definitely either love it or hate it but I'm prepared to love it because I don't plan on repainting ever again.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
