Wow. I actually bestirred myself and made something! Remember me sending you to THIS in my last post? Well, I made one and here it is, holding sock yarn that is earmarked for a special request for four pairs of socks for next Christmas....
- If you have need of a quick baby quilt, perhaps THIS design might be perfect.
- THESE would be a cute make for Valentine's Day!
- THIS made me laugh!
- You know those little silica gel packets you sometimes get? HERE are some uses for them!
- THIS made me smile too (scroll down for some more cuties).
- THIS is really pretty.
You broke through and made a thing! I find it uphill work in January.
ReplyDeleteIt was an easy thing but at least it's something. Won't mention that I sewed it together wrong and had to frog part of it.
DeleteI think the handles on the sides works better than handles on the ends, like in the pattern.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too!
DeleteLovely bag you made and just perfect for yarn storage, too. Stay warm--it is so cold here...and on its way down I hear...
ReplyDeletehugs for a great weekend hugs, Julierose
It's going to be turning really cold here the first of the week and I would happily hibernate if I could. I won't go out unless I absolutely have to though.
DeleteNow that is one lovely basket. Good for you in getting something completed.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Yes, I was happy even though it's a small project. Something is better than nothing!
DeleteShe said she could SEW she did! What a nice way to hold the supplies for a WIP (or an almost-WIP). And thanks for the links -- the one about silica gel packs was very interesting.
ReplyDeleteYep, I did! Used up some fabric too so a win/win.
DeleteYou made a great home for your yarn, AND you got to use some of your machine's decorative stitches or is that hand work?
ReplyDeleteAt least I can tell that the yarn in the basket is earmarked for projects already and won't get used in something else (at least that's my hope!). And yes, machine stitches.
DeleteFabulous bag. Such pretty fabric and the shape is perfect for storage of yarns. It looks like a lot of sock knitting throughout the year for you. Such pretty variegated colours.
ReplyDeleteYes, lots of sock knitting upcoming, which isn't a bad thing. I don't mind making them although they do take me a long time.
DeleteOooh, that looks fantastic, I love the purple fabric! And you're using it already, perfect.
ReplyDeleteI knew exactly what I planned to use it for before I started making it. It turned out fitting the amount of yarn I was setting aside for the socks I need to do by Christmas.
DeleteI love it that you made a project bag for a specific project - what a good way to do it. And I like the open-top design also. I've found it all too easy to forget about WIPS when I can't see them.
ReplyDeleteOh yes....the ol' hide-in-the-cupboard thing, I know it well!
Deleteooh very nice!!! And useful! xx
ReplyDeleteYes, it suited what I had in mind perfectly. I wanted to segregate the sock yarn I need to use to fulfill a commision because I was afraid if I put it in my general stash I'd end up using it for something else.
DeleteI like you fabric basket. And like another commenter said, I like your placement of the handles. More practical, I'd think.
