This is the second baby blanket I've made for
our grandbaby-to-come.
Although I know there's no need for two blankets, I made this one more as a family heirloom of sorts. The yarn that I used came from the baby's maternal great-grandmother and I thought it would be nice to use it to make something for the baby. The yarn itself isn't as soft as I would have chosen myself, but it's the history of it that makes it fun.
Today's quote is from Tennessee Williams.... "Life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quickly you hardly catch it going"
Since when does knitting for a baby arise from need???? other than the knitter's need to do it, that is. Good for you for making that second blankie.
ReplyDeleteThere is always a need for many blankets! One is sure to become a favorite and drug around the house for years to come. My 21 year old still has a tattered bit of hers!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful... and I love that it is all one colour... so pretty... what a great keepsake...
ReplyDeletelove the little chef's hat too...
I think this blanket is beautiful, simple yet elegant and in a lovely Victorian era ivory. At least that how it looks on my screen . What a treasure :)
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering why my comments don't seem to appear? you do often respond by email, which is lovely, but what I'm trying to do is communicate with your readers, and I don't seem to be getting there. Am I missing a step?
