Yes, you know I will have started on a new landscape and it seems I have at least one more 'Him and Me' lurking in my brain, as you can see from this...
I've had that piece of pre-printed flowers in my stash for ages and couldn't find a use for it - until now. I plan to add lots of hand stitching over top to give more dimension. The barn off in the distance is another piece of a panel I've had lurking about. In case you're thinking the couple are sitting in mid-air, there will be a chain added to complete the swing but that won't happen until the quilting and embroidery are done.
- THIS would be a great use for that skein of laceweight (or sock yarn) that you've had sitting around.
- I thought THIS was intriguing, but possibly not as a pincushion...perhaps as a display piece to show off pretty little embroideries or special fabrics?
- THESE are pretty and would look nice in my living room.
Today's quote...

swings are one of my favorite things in the whole wide World - this one will be even more fun...
ReplyDeletelong ago, when Earth Science was a little soccer-playing boy, i crocheted a soccer ball for him, using white and black yarn - it was hexagons and pentagons, too (which only makes sense) - and had to be donated after it destroyed something breakable (don't remember what, but i was not happy about it, lemmtellya) ... yeah, i'm gonna pass on that one.
Sounds like you had a typical boy - ours had moments like that too.
DeleteDear friend, the Snoopy illustration made me laugh out loud. I so love your posts and creativity. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSnoopy made me laugh too, even though there's a lot of truth there.
DeleteI really like how lively the new landscape is looking, especially the upcycled flowers and barn. This is going to be great.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to augmenting it with lots of embroidery which should change it quite a bit.
DeleteAnd here I thought your couple were practising the art of levitation. I'm loving your "Him and Me' landscapes. I look forward to seeing all the stitching details you add to the flowers. That will be an enjoyable process.
ReplyDeleteLevitation - ha ha!! Good thing I explained what I was planning!
DeleteGood for you finding a way to use up those fabric pieces. Those crochet tie backs are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I guess the flowers here are proof that holding onto 'stuff' ends up coming handy if you wait long enough.
DeleteI thought they were waving to someone! :D I love that flowery fabric. What a perfect place to use it! Looking forward to watching your stitching magic!
ReplyDeleteI was happy to finally find a use for those flowers. It's always good to use up some stash.
DeleteI am really enjoying this series.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed seeing all of your creations. You are so creative! And I have appreciated you sharing the knitting/crochet projects you have found on the internet. I have 2 new projects to work on thanks to you. I have the perfect yarn I bought for another too complicated lace scarf. This 2 row repeat pattern is just my speed AND it looks pretty. Thank you, Jane
ReplyDeleteThank you Jane! Glad you found something in the links that you can use (and I'm with you on the uncomplicated lace pattern).
DeleteHello MJ: Love this design, I also thought they were waving, a swing makes more sense.

Yes, good thing I explained the swing aspect so you know what I'm aiming for.
