Here is a small section of the latest landscape with hand embroidery added...
- I know THIS is a tad late for Easter perhaps, but still would be really cute for spring.
- THIS is a little different take on a makeup (or anything) bag.
- Our family likes felted slippers so perhaps I'll give THIS version a try.
- THIS is something I found awww-worthy.
Today's quote is from Anthony Douglas Williams..."When we learn to respect all life, we learn to love all life"

cattails!!! awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteonce upon a time, my auntie was visiting. we went to a park that had a little drainage swamp and wild cattails were growing there. she had never seen cattails, and asked one of the kids to harvest some stalks for her. she was so excited to take them home! i dunno what she planned to do with them - she was crafty, so maybe a flower arrangement? she packed them in her suitcase and took off on her flight. when it landed, her kids collected her suitcase, drove her home and took it into the house. when she opened it, she was engulfed in cattail fluff cuz that's what cattails do ... she was so much fun to be around and i miss her ... thank you for a little journey down memory lane.
That's a great story! My RC once accidently inhaled some of that fluff and nearly choked to death. Not something you want to do!
Deletesheesh!!! we shouldn't have been laughing about auntie being covered in fluff all these years...
DeleteYeah, the RC thought for sure he was going to choke to death. That stuff is lethal.
DeleteThe slippers look nice, but I couldn't find what the finished sizes were to be. I think a line of text was omitted. What's your guess as to what the three sizes would be?
ReplyDeletehmmm - the only place I can see where there might be some indication of sizing is at the end(ish) where they say the finished length is either 42/47/or 51 cm. With felted slippers any measurement is an 'ish' because it despends on how the yarn felts.
DeleteI love ❤️ this.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLovely embroidery stitches delineating the lady's blouse, the grassy parts, and that pretty sky, too...this is really coming alive.
ReplyDeleteNice work hugs, Julierose
I love adding the embroidery, whether it be by machine or by hand. That's when the scene starts to come alive for sure.
DeleteOh my, those cattails are really nice.
ReplyDeleteCrocheted egg cup link will make nice decorations. Love the owl.

I'm planning to add more cattails (also called bullrushes here) before I'm done.
DeleteSherryofcreateology: Hello MA. Your embroidery always adds such life to your landscapes. The knitted owl is sweet. Very good quote.
ReplyDeleteI love the cattails..... We have them in so many areas here in Saskatchewan.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Here too. That's why I wanted to include them.
DeleteI'm glad you still have lots of cattails in your neck of the woods! One of the beloved plants of my woods-wandering childhood. In my adult lifetime I've watched wetland after wetland taken over by phragmites and it makes me so sad to lose the native cattails.
ReplyDeleteYes, we still seem to have them here, but not in the numbers I recall from when I was a kid.
DeleteHello MA: Looking forward to seeing this full version of the quilt.
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the interesting links, the owl is my favorite.
Catherine
I like the wee owl too...so cute.
DeleteIt's coming along beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with it so far.
DeleteOooh... I love the cattails!
ReplyDeleteThey seemed to need to be there!
