It's a good thing I houseclean the basket I keep beside my living room chair once in awhile because I unearthed a partially completed scarf that's probably been sitting there for nearly two years. Oh dear. I can call it done now after several evenings of knitting. Then I decided I needed to 'do something' with the drawer where I keep my worsted-weight 'bits' and decided I could make another hat which will be going to the donation box.
- THIS is a rather pretty pattern that would be great for scrap yarns.
- And THIS one too!
- HERE is a fun little project you might like to try.
- HERE is another fun project that looks pretty easy to make.
Today's quote is from Barbara Hemphill..."Clutter is nothing more than postponed decisions"

that's the kind of housecleaning that is fun to do - well done!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I couldn't believe I had totally forgotten about that scarf!
DeleteI love that quote and I also have an area surrounding my tv chair where projects get saved and sometimes forgotten. Love how you rescued your scarf. I went to that first link and loved the Bespoke crochet afghan. Of course, I have leftover wool around here somewhere too.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone!! As for finding your leftover wool - maybe look beside your chair? (and yes, I'm kidding!)
DeleteNeat scarf finish and cute hat, too. It's amazing what is hiding in forgotten places;)))) hugs for a great weekend...Julierose
ReplyDeleteIt surely says something about my housekeeping abilities when I don't clean out my knitting basket for a couple years!
DeleteYour knitted items are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm not an adventurous knitter but easy patterns suit me the best.
DeleteI have been going through the bits and bobs of yarn to see if I can find bigger bits to make the smaller sized mitts when I finish these. If not I will use the small ones to pull my warp together on the loom. Though I am thinking of just doing a big blanket with all those odds and ends.
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf and I have some embroidery projects that are at least two years old and not finished.
God bless.
Be sure to check out the first link in this post because it takes you to a great blanket idea for scrap yarns.
DeleteThat's funny, the scarf patiently waiting till you noticed. Who knows what else you might find..
ReplyDeleteNothing else to be found in that basket - other than a few dust elephants.
DeleteHello MA: Love the scarf and hat, thank-you for the links, the carrot is a hoot which I would like to make.
ReplyDeleteCatherine
I thought that carrot was rather fun too. If you make it, hope you share a picture!
DeleteSherryofcreateology: Your donation gift box must be overflowing by now. Lovely scarf and fun hat. You always have such interesting links and thank you. Happy Sunday! It is my husbands 83rd birthday today. Where have the years gone?!!
ReplyDeleteI actually have two boxes on the go - one is for Christmas giving and the other is for donation at some point. Happy Birth Day to your DH (he's the same age as my RC at least until July)
DeleteTwo very nice finishes!
ReplyDeleteIt was good to get that scarf out of my knitting basket (even though I'll have wait...hopefully!....til winter comes again to wear it).
