Still chipping away

Four pairs of adult-sized lounge pants - ✔  (well, all but the drawstrings that are on the way).  I used McCall's # 4244 for three of them and McCall's 4979 for the green pair.

Four pillowcases for the grandies - ✔  I use the burrito-method and the tutorial can be found HERE

Our local food bank's November food drive is rather a fun one so I thought I'd post it here in case you'd like to go shopping for YOUR local area.  We don't (obviously) buy and deliver one thing each day but we put it all together into one larger donation.  We also buy multiples of many of the items.  When we drop it all off we give them our grocery receipt and they send us a tax deduction.  Win/win!

- THIS, along with a bottle of nice apple juice, would be a nice little gift at Christmas.

- THESE are really cute and would make a wonderful gift for a little someone in your life.

- THIS might be a nice gift for a family.

- Some of you might be interested in THIS sew-along.

Today's quote is from Dr. Jane Goodall..."Let us move forward with faith in ourselves, in our intelligence, in our indomitable spirit.  Let us develop respect for all living things.  Let us try to replace violence and intolerance with understanding and compassion and love"

  8. I have a few things I need to drop off at our food bank next week. We are also doing a collection at church and so I will take a few things there before the end of the month.
    Love the sleep pants.

    God bless.

    1. I'm looking forward to doing the advent - it's a fun activity that helps so many people. It's sad to say that food banks are becoming more and more necessary.

  9. Wish lists are always a good way to encourage donations, and this calendar version is one I haven't seem before. I hope it is hugely successful.

    1. I think it's the third year they've done this (although they might have been doing it longer, but that's how long we've played along).

  10. A friend of mine is putting together some "casseroles in a bag" for the local food pantry, and she invited a group of us to contribute. It was such a clever idea - I think it would be kind of exciting to get one. Love the lounge pants. I bought a 99cent McCall's pattern recently to make such pants. Now you've inspired me to look for some fabric!

    1. Casseroles in a bag sounds like a fun idea - perhaps I'll mention it to the local food bank people when we drop off our advent things.
Sleep pants are a huge hit for our adult kids and I know they wear them happily.

Thank you so much for leaving comments! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy life to talk to me. It's wonderful to know that someone is actually reading my mumblings and even more fun if I can connect with you and visit your blog.
