After an investment in three cases of small canning jars (on sale...woo hoo!), the RC now has a new (and at the moment organized) spice storage system.
Small things amuse us, what can I say?
- HERE is something that might fit into your wardrobe (or that of someone on your gift list)
- Although I'm not a fan of Halloween, THIS caught my eye.
- THIS caught my eye too.
Today's quote is from Noam Chomsky...."As long as the general population is passive, apathetic, diverted to consumerism or hatred of the vulnerable, then the powerful can do as they please, and those who survive will be left to contemplate the outcome"
That spice arrangement is like Wil Yeung's. I love it when he opens the cabinet door and there they are, labeled. No fumbling around mismatched jars and packets. I can see why J loves it. Does he keep sneaking a peek?
ReplyDeleteNo, he's not sneaking peeks, but I am! It pleases me no end to see the jars all the same and nicely labeled AND in alphabetical order too. It won't last but I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
Deletespicy!!!
ReplyDeletethat is a LOTTA spices - very, very impressive!!!
Hah - that's not even all of them! That's just the ones that we keep in smaller amounts. The larger container storage is on the other side of the kitchen.
DeleteI love ❤️ this. Nicely organized.
ReplyDeleteWe're happy with it so far.
DeleteNicely organised.
ReplyDeleteLooks good for the moment but I doubt it will last.
DeleteColor me bright green over the spice drawer! Love the little tension rod keeping them from sliding around too. I keep looking at getting racks and matching jars for mine, then chicken out when I see the $$ it would take. Then I regret not buying every time I need a spice.
ReplyDeleteWe initially had little jars with lids that had a 'spinner' allowing you to shake out a little bit or stick a spoon in to get a larger amount. They were constantly opening up and allowing the air to get inside which didn't help keep them fresh. Yes, the initial investment in these jars was a bit much but they will last forever. Might need a new lid once in awhile but not likely for a very long time.
DeleteApplique is not something I have ever gotten into. Like the owl though. Good way to use scraps.
ReplyDeleteI can do raw edge applique but can't seem to master needle turn. The owl IS cute.
DeleteWhat a great idea - spices in small canning jars. I love keeping spices in a drawer. Yours look especially neat.
ReplyDeleteKnowing the RC, they won't stay neat for long...or at least not in alphabetical order anyway.
