I'm a happy camper because the pre-cuts for my fusion quilt arrived. Now I just have to await delivery of the yardage I need for the backing.
I've begun the new commissioned landscape but it's not ready to show you quite yet. It's at that 'dang, it's ugly' stage when even I question my ability to make it into anything. Who knows, maybe I can't!!
In lieu of having any photos to show you, I thought I'd share this...
- HERE is a technique you might like to try.
.- I really wish I had the confidence to attempt making THIS for my grandie.
- THIS is an interesting article with some good tips.
- Perhaps you might find THIS to be a project you might like to attempt.
- THIS little guy made me laugh.
Today's quote..."We rake, bag, and burn the leaves that feed the soil, then buy plastic bags of fertilizer to replace what we stole. That was never supposed to be the plan"

I like the animal tracks. No humans though! I think that lady has confused smocking with shirring. They're different hanimals. Shirring is a lot easier. I remember shirred bathing suits for little, and bigger, kids.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about shirring vs smocking. I really wish I had what it takes to attempt it for our grandie though. My sewing skills aren't that advanced when it comes to clothing. I need an actual pattern and even then it can be a crap shoot whether it turns out.
DeleteThe bleach link is a neat thing to try. Tracks are not easy to remember. Good chart

I agree that the bleach technique looks intriguing.
DeleteInteresting photo of animal footprints chart...we so soften see tracks here in our yard (now that the lawn is mostly a dust bowl!! It has been so dry here!!) and this is neat to have on hand...Thanks hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteJust another instance of you never knowing what might appear on my blog!
DeleteThis is very cool 😎 Thanks 😊 for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome.
DeleteNever rake, bag and burn leaves here. Onto the garden they go. =) Those animal tracks are interesting. Hopefully you'll be able to start your fusion quilt soon.
ReplyDeleteWe never raked them either - they were always mulched and put into the garden or the RC mowed over them and let them stay on the lawn - cheap fertilizer.
DeleteInteresting looking at the various tracks. Leaves here are usually for the most part put into the garden or left on the ground like RC did. Though lately we are getting leaves from all over the place and are starting to bag a few up and put them in the garbage.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The RC used to go out and collect bags of leaves from the neighbours to mulch up for our garden (we had a very large garden at the time).
