Another project

As promised, here's the reveal of what I was doing with that little tidbit I showed you last time...

This is a pincushion I created for including in the  Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade hosted by 'My Sister Made Me Do It'.

Be sure to click on the link above and check out all the other fun pincushions
included in the parade.  (Note:  new entries will be added until
June 19, so be sure to check back often!).

Mine measures approximately 15" high and uses a silver wine goblet as the base and also features a crazy quilted skirt.  The instructions to make one of your very own will appear in an upcoming issue of 'Crazy Quilt Quarterly' Magazine.

Today's quote..."Silver is purified in fire and so are we.  It is in the most trying times that our real character is shaped and revealed"

  1. What a clever pincushion and how convenient that a wine goblet is the base. I like the little storage pockets and the crazy quilt skirt. So pretty and so useful.

    1. Thank you! That wine goblet has been sitting on a shelf in my sewing room for years holding various things throughout that time. Too pretty to get rid of and yet not really serving much purpose. The pincushion challenge was just the incentive I needed!

    1. Glad you like the banner picture - thought it was time to change it out. Oh goodness - I'm not thinking about Christmas yet but I know I should be. One wonders what it will be like this year with all that's been happening in the world.

    2. Love your mannequin pincushion, Mary Anne. The fabric for the bodice is pretty and the skirt with your signature crazy quilted skirt is sweet. The skirt with the pockets to hold all those sewing accourtrements is fabulous. Love this idea.

    3. Thanks Kim - I can't make too much without adding an element of crazy quilting so this is no exception I guess.

    1. The pincushion was fun to make (not that I NEED another pincushion!!). Glad you like the banner - not sure if I want my work to show up quite that large because all my mistakes will show.

    1. Thanks Sheryl! I'm happy to finally have a good use for that goblet. It's one of those things I didn't want to part with but it didn't serve any real purpose other than gathering dust.
