More additions

You hopefully can see the results of two days work on this now...

A close-up of the embroidery, and the sweet wee bunny applique.  I had a precious scrap of bunny fabric and this is the last of the little bunnies.  Wish I could find some more!

Some things just make me wonder.  I recently had to purchase a new printer and just bought my first new ink for it.  I thought I should read the directions (for once) and was rather astounded to see that the first caution (and in large print no less!) said 'Do not drink'.  Ummmm - wonder who would think it was wise to try to drink printer ink - to say nothing about the logistics of sucking it out of the cartridges!

Instead of a quote.....

  1. I expect there's alcohol in the ink. Seriously addicted people have been known to crave it in strange places. So company lawyers defend themselves ahead of time with this sort of warning. I like the warning on firelogs:caution, flammable! I should hope so..and the warning on packets of desiccating powder in the dried milk not to eat it. Do lawyers keep a straight face, do you think, when they write this stuff?

    1. I'm going to start reading labels more often - who knows what oddities I might discover. Can't imagine why anyone would even begin to think printer ink is edible, but I guess it takes all kinds.

  2. I forgot to say I really love the sky section of that barn piece.

  3. You have made gorgeous progress on this Church landscape. That wee bunny is precious. If only we had unlimited fabrics we love. Good to know I am a Seenager. LOL

    1. Thanks Sherry - it's nearing completion now - unless I mess up the next step! Yes, some fabrics are precious and I only had a scrap of this one to begin with...it featured little bunnies and daisies, both of which I've used in my landscapes.

    1. Took me two days to embroider those (and then people wonder why I dare to want $250 for a completed landscape!!). Seenager made me laugh so I had to share.

  6. I love your landscape. It's really taking shape. I actually found a free image the other day of two very cute bunnies in a winter setting. I was thinking of printing them on fabric.

Some fabulous links today. I must make some of the those towel belts. I laughed at first but I can totally use a few.

    1. Thanks Zaa! The bunny added the perfect touch I think - he's probably nibbling on the flowers I embroidered.

    1. I'm pretty pleased with the church too - was afraid for awhile that I'd taken on something that was too difficult but it seems to be okay.

    1. I thought the bunny just belonged there. Just wish I had more of that bunny fabric - it also had beautiful daisies which I have used in a couple of my landscapes. I can't remember where I got the scrap of fabric and haven't been able to locate it anywhere else.

  10. A most "tah dah" moment, Mary Anne. I cannot believe how closely your dilapidated church building closely resembles the photo. You are very clever! Love your trees against the background of the sky and the embroidery stitches for the grass is inspired. A most amazing finish!

  11. Thank you Kim! I took artistic license with the trees though. Louisiana has birch trees but they're not the white birch we're more familiar with here.

    1. The bunny just 'fit' somehow. I envision him nibbling away on my embroidered flowers and plants.
