And....it begins again......

I started another landscape on the weekend.  Do you think maybe I'm just a tad obsessed??  This is the image I'm working from....

A wonderful old barn and chicken coop from somewhere in Alberta.  Image used with the kind permission of the photographer - Dale Stewart.  Thank you Dale!

This is where I am so far...

Doesn't look like much at this point!

Today's quote..."Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world.  Constantly color your picture grey and your picture will always be bleak.  Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor and your picture begins to lighten up"

  1. Mary Anne this is a wonderful barn and chicken coop. I love your beginning and just know it will be amazing when you complete it. Fun links and I like the crochet vest/cardigan. Easter Blessings Dear...

    1. At this stage of the process I usually hate it. I can't see how I will ever be able to turn it into anything remotely resembling the inspiration photo. This one is no different - so will have to wait and see what happens.

    1. I suppose there are worse obsessions. I'm looking forward to watching it develop too!

  3. Oh boy! I love your obsession. I happen to think your beginning here is better than the original photograph. More real somehow. How can that be??? lol

  4. I love that stage where everything is a possibility. Exciting. And I know nothing of obsession..

    1. Exciting and terrifying, all at the same time. I could get a lot more done if I didn't spend so much time contemplating how/what to do next.

  5. Love your obsession.... you are so good at it! Does it make it harder that it is a black and white photo?

    1. It does and it doesn't Shirlee - the values of dark and light are still the same but because it's not a color photo it gives me a tad more leeway in the colors I choose to use within the confines of my stash. I actually toyed with attempting to do this one entirely in one color but then I checked my stash and realized I would have to augment it a lot so opted to do it 'normal' (if there IS such a thing in my life!!).

  8. I think that it's great that you've found your niche because you do it so well. Really. And I'm sure you've grown more confidant with each one completed but always look for ways to improve.

    1. Not quite sure that confidence level is quite there yet because I certainly do a lot of thinking about what to do next. Right now I live by experimentation!
