Not sure if this is actually progress....or something more suited for the nearest garbage receptacle. At this point in the process I wonder why I'm even attempting to make something that looks even remotely like the original. As you can see, this is the photo I'm working from...
....and this is the way it looks at the moment...
Dog's breakfast?
Maybe.
Another anonymous quote..."The things you take for granted someone else is praying for"
Hi There! I said I would stop by! I love the cowl patterns and the owl is adorable! I really like the direction of your barn quilt. No, it doesn't look exactly like the photo but that is what art is - making your own interpretation. Keep going and see what happens! I really like the sky.
ReplyDeleteThe bigger barn looks fine to me. The second one seems to be ..umm..a little lopsided.
ReplyDeleteI don't think your barn pretty looks like a dog's breakfast at all. I rather love the 'crazy' sky. I can't wait to see how you embellish it. Such a lovely quote; so very true.
ReplyDeletewow Mary Anne its going to fun watching you work on this piece, you will put your own take on this project and it doesnt have to be identical to the pic, well done my friend xx
ReplyDeleteIt would be impossible to crazy quilt a replica of this photo. The sky in your piece feels it is radiating light. I get the feel of grasses in the greens in the fore ground. The barns are waiting for character to emerge. Don't judge it until you have spun your magic.

Love your barns. I am assuming you will be embellishing them in some way so this is just the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI think your sky is beautiful, it's coming along very well!
ReplyDeleteThe little owl with the heart on his tummy is adorable. Now where
is the jealous cat? I still remember that funny photo of the cat
sitting in the basket after it had kicked out those cute little owls.
This is experimental and lovely. Keep it up. I see new horizons in the distance.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks really interesting. I love it already.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, blue -. Like it! Embellishments here we come!
ReplyDeleteIt’s looking good, Mary Anne! Looking forward to your embellishing!
ReplyDeleteLoved the cute owl! Cowls ..... that’s knitting ..... knitting and I don’t get on! Tee hee!
Hugs
Barbara xx
Don't stop. Keep going as it's starting to take shape. I love the barns and the sky.
ReplyDeleteThis barn with its CQ sky and pasture will be amazing. The sky looks like Sun Rays. The Doily wall treatment is stunning but so impractical for a headboard. This quote really hits home! Sunshine amidst the Snow right now...<3
ReplyDeleteThings are coming along. Look forward to the next stage.
