Close counts, right? The jacket is as done as I can get it for now because my stash let me down. I know - horrors!! I need four big dome fasteners (only have 2) and I was sure, in all the buttons I have, there would be four big red buttons. Sadly no. So, I'm calling the jacket done - until I can get to Fabricland to get what I need to totally finish it. You'll have to use your imagination and pretend to see four large red buttons on the front where the pins are.
And....wonder of wonders! It fits!!
(well, the sleeves and the body could have been
a wee bit longer, but it's okay)
- If you've discovered the many uses for beeswax wraps, perhaps you'd like to try making your own from the tutorial HERE.
- If we still had a garden I'd like THESE.
- Aren't THESE pretty? I can think of lots of uses for them.
- Ummmmmm - WHY???
- Some of THESE are incredible!
Today's quote..."Be nice to crafters. We have enough creativity to make your death look like an accident and due to a lifetime of hot glue gun burns, we leave no fingerprints"

i'm gonna show that WHY to Melissa - i think she would like it ... as for why? well, young people seem to like clothes that make not much sense - my grandson relearned how to crochet (we taught him when he was in elementary school) so he can make men's granny square shorts (i think they look like a grown man who forgot to leave the afghan on the couch) for himself and his buddies...
ReplyDeleteyour jacket looks great!!!
Granny square shorts - does he not realize what happens if they get wet?? It's like the women's bikini knit/crochet tops - again, what happens when they get wet?
Deletethat's what i said!!! when i asked him, he rolled his eyes - bwah ha ha!!!
DeleteWish we could be a fly on the wall when it happens!
DeleteWhat a great jacket, and the red buttons will be just perfect!!
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It's certainly warm ... won't be wearing it this time of year, that's for sure.
DeleteThat's a really cute jacket!
ReplyDeleteI had such high hopes that it would lower my stash of denim and it seems the lid STILL won't go on my container...sigh. I could probably make five more jackets and not make much of a dent (I could, but I won't!)
DeleteI love your jacket!!! I know all about the 'stash' letting you down and when you go to replenish they have sold out of the thing you desperately need.
ReplyDeleteMy stash constantly surprises me by coming through most of the time, but not this time. Oh well, good excuse to go to the fabric store!
DeleteGreat jacket result! I'm impressed. No picture modeling it, though, sad..
ReplyDeleteNo, it's a tad too warm at present to be wearing it long enough for a photo. Perhaps when I eventually find buttons and actually have it finished.
DeleteThat’s a great jacket, MA! The bright red buttons will be the pièce de résistance!
ReplyDeleteWanting red buttons means a trip to the fabric store - first time I will have set foot in one in more than two years. I do everything by mail order but buttons are eluding me.
DeleteBeautiful jacket! The red buttons will set it off well.
ReplyDeleteMay
Not so sure it's beautiful, but it's going to be functional and keep me warm which was part of my goal.
DeleteLove your denim jacket! It will look great with red buttons. Great way using your stash. A friend made one from New York Beauty leftover and new blocks.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was really hoping it would reduce my denim stash substantially but sadly it didn't.
DeleteIt looks so cool, Mary Anne. My imagination easily places for red buttons on the front of this. How fun that will be to wear.
ReplyDeleteHah - it's not cool for this time of year, that's for sure!
