All of the denim 'blocks' have been quilted with red thread and the pieces for the jacket are cut out and ready to assemble. There was JUST enough in the quilt flimsy to do the job...phew.
Picture shows the front and back pieces - sleeves look prety much the same.- Our boys used to play with THESE and now I'm wondering if they are coming back in vogue. Might have to make some for our grandies if that's the case!
- With rhubarb being in season right now, THIS is a great project.
- THIS little guy is awww-worthy!
- There are tons of ideas HERE to use up that prolific rhubarb in your garden.
Today's quote is from Matt Haig...."Wherever you are, at any moment, try and find something beautiful. A face, a line out of a poem, the clouds out of a window, some graffiti, a wind farm. Beauty cleans the mind"

I think you made a jacket like that for my sister, am I remembering right?
ReplyDeleteYes, you remember correctly. I did make one for her in the crazy quilting style I was using back then. This particular version is more of a traditional quilting design.
DeleteNice you have all the stitching done on your jacket pieces now;))) Love the red thread outlining;)))
ReplyDeleteHugs, Julierose
I thought the red thread was a nice touch and now I'm hopeful I can locate enough large red buttons in my stash to be able to finish it when the time comes.
DeleteI love the red stitching.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeleteI love the style as well as the red stitching!
ReplyDeleteI like red and blue together so that colour stitching seemed right.
DeleteI like the jacket. For myself I wouldn't add sleeves!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be quite warm as a vest so I'm going with a full jacket/coat that I can wear in the late fall and early winter. Provided it fits, of course!
DeleteWell done. I like the red outline. Did you make the pattern pieces yourself or did you have a paper pattern that you used?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I love that you thought I could create a pattern myself - thank you, but no...it's the Tamarack Jacket by Grainline Studio.
DeleteOooh, the red thread looks fun!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to break up the fully denim look and initially toyed with using yellow (the more traditional thread used on jeans) but decided I like red better.
