Hack and cut - stitch and cut

Remember the tangent I told you about last time?  Well I spent the better part of an entire day cutting up denim and then I started sewing it all back together again.  Next 'up' on my dance card?  Cutting it up again!  (pictures to come in my next post).

Sadly, I don't have any pictures for you this time, nor do I have but one link for you.  Being a social flutter-bye and a day away means no time for searching links out for you.  I'll try to do better next time!

- THIS is an important read - and something to take to heart.

And how about this, instead of a quote...

  1. we actually have most of the listed stuff for "hurricane season" but ours is for wild fires (lessons learned from the wildfire that killed two people and wiped out two neighborhoods - over 1000 homes gone in 90+mph winds that jumped an eight lane highway - and many businesses) and wind storms - we keep it current all year cuz you never know...

    1. It's certainly wise to be prepared for anything - storms, fires, or whatever else might happen.

  3. I saw a stunning denim pattern on one of your links months ago. Two shades of denim sewn to appear 3D. Is that what you are up to?

    1. Nope - I'm making a quilt to begin with and then cutting it up to make a jacket. Or at least such is the plan anyway!

    1. I'm trying to avoid hand work as much as possible with this project, although I would really love to have added some sashiko. Don't think my 'arthur' is up to it.
