A re-do

Recently I was going through some of my previous Christmas posts in an effort to refresh my memory over some of the things I've made and I came across this and thought it was worth sharing again....

Barely the day started and
it's already six in the evening.
Barely arrived on Monday
and it's already Friday.
.. and the month is already over.
.. and the year is almost over.
.. and already 40, 50 or 60 years
of our lives have passed..
.. and we realize that we lost
our parents, friends.
.. and we realize it's too late
to go back..
So..
Let's try, despite
everything, to enjoy
the remaining time..
Let's keep looking for
activities that we like..
Let's put some color in
our grey..
Let's smile at the little
things in life that put
balm in our hearts..
And despite everything,
we must continue to enjoy
with serenity this time we
have left..
Let's try to eliminate the
afters..
I'm doing it after..
I'll say after..
I'll think about it after..
We leave everything for
later like " after ′′ is ours.
Because what we don't
understand is that ~
Afterwards, the coffee
gets cold..
afterwards, priorities change..
Afterwards, the charm is
broken.
Afterwards, health passes..
Afterwards, the kids grow up.
Afterwards parents get old..
Afterwards, promises are
forgotten..
Afterwards, the day becomes
the night.
Afterwards, life ends.
And then it's often too late.
So..
Let's leave nothing for
later..
Because still waiting to see
later, we can lose the
best moments, the best
experiences, best friends,
the best family..
The day is today..
The
moment is now..
We are no longer at the
age where we can afford
to postpone what needs
to be done right away.
It Looks Like An Eternity,
But It's A Short Trip..
Enjoy Life And Always
Be Kind..

- Maybe you'd like to make THIS for your Christmas decor.

- THIS would make a really nice gift.

- Although we haven't tried THIS (yet!), wouldn't it be pretty for Christmas giving?

- THIS looks like a pretty easy thing to create.

- THIS would make a welcome gift for the youngsters or teens on your list.

- If you know someone who has issues with their neck and shoulders, I bet THIS would be a welcome gift. And HERE are the instructions to make a quilted hug (the link takes you to a PDF file). I think I will deep dive into my stash to see if I have the makin's to make one.

Today's quote..."Happiness comes a lot easier when you stop complaining about your problems and start being grateful for all the problems you don't have"

  1. My easy rice bag heating pad is a sock filled with rice! It fits nicely around anywhere it's needed. I haven't tried it cold, but I expect it would work. But you could make a cover for it, if you need to be making.

    1. A sock does indeed work! I was thinking in terms of making them for gifting though...some people wouldn't mind getting a sock, come to think of it.

    Lovely poem.
I should be doing laundry right now. I’d rather check out your links. 😂

    1. Laundry? Why do laundry when there's 'funner' things to do?

  4. I have actually been looking at those hug shawls and wondering if I could manage to make a couple. I see a deep dive into my fabric stash happening very soon. Love the poem.

    God bless.

    1. I'm in the midst of doing a Grande Shovel-Out of my sewing room and am keeping my eye out for fodder to make one of those shawls for myself. Glad you enjoyed the poem.

  5. Lovely poem you've shared with us;))) Oh so true...especially as you get older--we keep on saying: "How did it get to be Friday again already?" Faster and faster the days go...Like the words to "Sunrise, Sunset"...very meaningful..
Hugs for a great weekend !!

    1. There's a lot of truth in that poem because I know as I get older time is passing faster and faster.

  6. socks with rice are Melissa's favorite heating aid - we buy fun knee high socks when they're on sale (the current pair is TNMT) and my job is to fill them with the cheapest long grain rice and sew the ends closed ... her job is to warm them in the microwave (tricking me into thinking it's supper) and wrap them around her ankles and calves cuz her feet are either cold or hot ... she puts them at the bottom of her bed, too, to prewarm her sleeping spot ... yeah, rice is on the list for a new pair cuz the turtles are getting grungy - next up is "whiskey business" (from a St. Patrick's Day sale) - which was funny until kegsbreath started murdering people (but i digress)
