Back to regular scheduling - sort of

POSTING THIS EARLY BECAUSE ONCE MORE WE'RE BEING INUNDATED WITH A SERIOUS ICE STORM.  HOPEFULLY IT WON'T BE LIKE THE LAST ONE WHEN WE LOST POWER FOR DAYS.  IT'S TO BE HOPED THE WIND THEY'RE PREDICTING DOESN'T HAPPEN.

***************************

UPDATED TO ADD:  Overnight the temperature rose and some of the ice melted away.  So far the power has stayed on.  Still treacherous out there but not as bad as what they were predicting...phew!!

********************************

Well, I guess we can put the Christmas festivities behind us for another year, a relief for many I'm sure.

I spent my off time adding to the birthday gift for our wee grandie (who is turning 4 the end of January).  Some of you may remember me making this doll and outfits...

She will also be getting THIS doll bed from Ikea.

Now what self-respecting doll with such a nice bed doesn't deserve some bedding to go along with it?  Grandma to the rescue, and it will have a mattress, sheets, a quilt and a pillow.  It's such fun having a granddaughter to spoil!

#2 son got a 3-D printer for Christmas and he made us these for our Christmas tree...

I've asked him if he can make us some more in various sizes because they look so pretty on the tree.  Added bonus is that they store flat so don't take up much space in the container we use for Christmas decorations.

THIS is something that you might like to make for yourself now that the holiday hype is over.

- I haven't shared an awwwww-thing for awhile, so how about THIS that made me smile.

- If you're a fan of buffalo plaid perhaps you'd like to make THIS.

- THIS is something you might like to make for yourself.

  1. Cute doll and lovely outfits. We are getting freezing 🥶 rain here in Montreal with the possibility of losing power.
Take care of yourself and stay safe 🙏 ❤️

  2. Lovely dolly with outfits; and now a bed and linens, too--oh she will be thrilled...what a lovely and loving gift...
Today all our Christmas stuff will be packed away for another year. Kind of mixed feelings when I do this every year...endings and beginnings, right? Hugs, Julierose

    1. Have to spoil the first little girl in our family for many years, that's for sure. Our Christmas dec's will be put away Jan 2nd because the RC likes them out until the new year starts.

  3. Oh, I wouldn't mind that dolly and her outfits and bedding! That's a wonderful present. Four already? How did that happen? I'm glad your weather isn't quite as severe as forecast. Let's hope your power stays in.

    1. Yes, she's turning four already - hard to believe, for sure. Lucky (for me!) she's a girlie girl and likes dolls, although she has her tomboy moments too. Power has stayed on so far, but they're calling for the wind to get up today so will have to wait and see. The temps have risen so the ice is starting to melt.

  4. What fun to get a custom-made doll and accessories! After a very mild weekend the weather has gotten very cold and windy. Just a dusting of snow, though.

    1. Welcome to winter in Canada! We don't have to like it, but not much we can do about it.
Hopefully our grandie will be happy with her gift.

Sherryofcreateology: I can’t believe your Granddaughter will be 4 already! Your birthday gifts are wonderful for her and her dolly. I hope you and RC are not going out in the storms…especially dangerous ice! Beautiful Snowflakes your son created for you. I have been wanting my husband to get a 3D printer but he is not interested and I don’t know anyone who has one. DRAT! Stay warm and safe my friend.

    1. I can't believe it either! She's growing so fast.
No, the RC and I have been staying in although the plan is to make a quick trip to the library tomorrow. I'm dreading having to clean the car off.

  8. Oh, those doll clothes and the bedding are so adorable! I will echo the others in my surprise that your granddaughter is nearly 4! All of your kids and grandkids are so fortunate to have creative parents. I imagine they look forward to seeing what you come up with every year.

    1. Yes, it just seems like yesterday that she was born! Seeing her in video chats is a surprise because she's suddenly a little girl and not a toddler any more.
